TOMORROW EVERYONE!!!

Look at that beautiful stack of Belladonnas! They’re heeeeeeere! And right here, in this place, will be my big book release party at 6:00 tomorrow.

It’s free, everyone is welcome (kids included), and I’ll be bouncing around grinning because MY BOOK IS IN THE WORLD.

Oh, and when you come you’ll get to meet Scott, who runs friendlymonsterpress and who is truly one of the best humans. He’s put so much work into making this dream of mine into a reality. He has been an absolute joy to work with. I hope you’ll stop by his merch table tomorrow evening and buy a book or a mug or a hat or nab some stickers. He’s wonderful, his press is wonderful, and I’m so happy I got to work with him.

I recently got some feedback on my writing that was very gentle and thoughtful, and since I love creative critique, I leaned in hard with my questions, receiving some very provoking questions in response. One of the most notable questions ended up being: “Why Cafes?”

And since I’m starting a whole goddam magazine about cafes, this poignant question hit appropriately hard.

What’s funny is, at first, I didn’t know how to answer.…Finally, I responded. “Cafes changed my life.”

1-year anniversary party was SO AMAZING❣️🌟 Thank you to everyone who came through and got down with us. Got us feelin’ like we’ve made a special place for ourselves in this little corner of Lombard St 🥲

Huge shoutout to @noprefcoffee for lending us their hearts, their beans, and their @coffee_ma_pdx pour-over pros. We wouldn’t be the same Living Room we are today without our friends at No Pref- such amazing roasters and even better collaborators. If you haven’t made your way down to their shop on Burnside, you’re missin’ out ☕️

SAN DIEGO PHOTO DUMP:

Kris and Bryce took a recent trip to San Diego for the World of Coffee convention and had such a special time. We got to see how people serve coffee in different cities and regions, and meet farmers from some of the producers whose coffees we serve every day.

Seeing people from every corner of the supply chain was really humbling. Getting coffee to the counter each day is a pretty complex process, but that just makes it feel even more special every time we get to serve you.

Thank you to everyone behind the scenes who helps get coffee to people every day, and thank you to everyone who believes in what we do and how we do it.
