[𝗗𝗘] Was haben Mütter und Magie gemein? TIGERS’ KITCHEN thematisieren die Abwesenheiten ihrer Mütter und rücken damit ins Zentrum, was zu lange im Verborgenen herumgeisterte. Was mit Ticks und Tricks beginnt, macht auch vor Tod und Traurigkeit nicht halt.

TIGERS‘ KITCHEN @tigerskitchenperformance (Nadja Duesterberg & Svea Kirschmeier) sind queere, performative Theatermacherinnen, die Räume für neue Narrative schaffen, um darin Unsichtbares sichtbar zu machen. Queerfeministische Kunst entsteht auf einem ehrlichen und auch offen verletzlichen Boden.

[𝗘𝗡] What do mothers and magic have in common? TIGERS’ KITCHEN explore their mothers’ absences, thereby bringing to the fore something that has lingered in the shadows for far too long. What begins with quirks and tricks does not stop at death and sadness.

TIGERS‘ KITCHEN @tigerskitchenperformance (Nadja Duesterberg & Svea Kirschmeier) are queer, performance theater makers who create spaces for new narratives to make the invisible visible. Queer feminist art is rooted in an honest and openly vulnerable foundation.

"Not everything happens for a reason"

The piece „Not everything happens for a reason“ is a sacred ritual of processing grief. It shows the pain, the overwhelm, breaking free and the goodbye that was never wanted but forced on us. This piece is a work in progress and birthed from the necessity of expressing what can´t be put into words. 2025 I lost a friend of mine because of a motorcycle accident in Thailand. One moment that changed everything. His name was Ryan. He was the embodiment of positivity and joy for life. Someone that would always go for what he wanted and see things in the most optimistic ways. A true inspiration. After this loss I started questionning life, my role and my purpose on this world. I fell in a huge hole. Something that just didnt make sense and never will. At the end of the year after a long time not being able to dance due to grief, I remembered how he would always go for it, how he would want to see me shine and continue to do the things i love. This video shows the process of coming back to myself and my passion. It is a work in progress I continue to research on. Grief is often a taboo topic. We do not get taught to handle death, especially when its so sudden and unfair. This work of mine is the intent to show this process. It is never perfect but a coming home and a connection to those that might have left us but in some way will always stay with us.

In a World that gave me body dismorphia and eating disorders from a young age I practice choosing to live in my body and cherish her as home. We are meant to live in our home rather than chasing esthetics and outside validation.
