the last time i posted was a month ago and i remember sitting on my bed in brooklyn and taking that picture like it was yesterday. i’ve found it completely impossible to parse out my emotions (am i angry? anxious? exhausted? confused? lost? scared? hopeful? hopeless? dissociative? at who about what?) through all of this, so i’ve stopped trying and am just letting it all seep out of me at once (which under normal circumstances might be ill-advised, but these are far from normal circumstances). so i’m here— a thousand unknown feelings, in a bedroom where the afternoon sun makes the walls glow, just like back home in bk.

i don’t know what i feel, but i know what i’m grateful for: zoom coffee breaks, digital tarot sessions, hours of joyful and tearful phone calls, animal crossing island dates, the “for kids” section of the new york times, PRH, tele-therapy, reminders to get up, getting my ass kicked in scrabble, the charles river, endless texting, bad embroidery, good books, tiger king watch parties, grapes and grocery stores, facetime happy hours, 24/7 lofi streams, mom & dad, and my theo (and all of the incredible essential-working folks still going out and fighting for our lives and livelihoods). by @noraalicee

this past year has been fully wild and unpredictable and sweeping and wonderful and painful. here are a stack of books that meant something to me: some i worked on, some i read for the first time, some i reread for the umpteenth time. they all mattered (in different ways) and brought me to the places i needed to go (even for just a short visit). by @noraalicee
