I got some new beautiful fleeces today … Winner, winner, chicken dinner: @abbruzzesedonna I managed to snug her winning Corriedale fleece, and then a Cormo, a Shetland, and a Blue-faced Leicester. I will share the names of the farms and shepherdesses/shepherds as I process the fleeces. Gorgeous wool!

Preparing for Rheinbeck with some of that lovely, lovely natural colored Romney from Applewood Acre Sheep. I have added tussah silk and will move to add sari silk and/or glittery Angelina in the next pass. Next batch I will mix the Romney with rabbit angora from @oswegofiberworks 🥰

I’m still working on my old @brotherdrumcarder, so the new big batts will have to wait a week or two for now.

You will be able to fin my products in @ceces_wool booth, as she sells them. (You should visit her booth even if not interested in my products, because she has so much absolutely fabulous yarns and wool products!) I will be there helping out too.

Another full day of scouring. I finished that award winning Romney fleece from Applewood Acre Sheep, and started on (another! Because I love them) Corriedale fleece from @abbruzzesedonna . These will be the wools I use first in my new carder this weekend … 🤫

Remember that spectacular Romney fleece from Applewood Acre Sheep? Well, of course I had to start prepping it immediately so I can send some to Rheinbeck with @ceces_wool next week.

To the test batch I added everything I could think of; tussah silk, Angelina glitter, and a lot of sari silk. It ended up as a 2ply DK weight yarn. Amazing wool to spin.

Some coil spinning with a thick and thin single of Corriedale (from @abbruzzesedonna ) and some gold Angelina, and gold recycled sari silk. If you are a weaver, this would make a beautiful scarf.

An absolutely stunning Romney fleece from Applewood Acre Sheep and Regina Embler. With several awards from last weekend, it has landed with me! I cannot wait to start prepping this beauty 🥰 it doesn’t get much better than this. And I also got two more natural colored Romney fleeces from Regina that I look forward to sharing with you.
