As the days shorten, coastal communities across Denmark begin the winter laying up — the annual ritual of bringing vessels out of service, into harbour, and preparing them to withstand the colder months. It is a moment of transition between movement and stillness, work and rest, exposure and protection.

For AW26, Norse Projects documents this ritual at Gilleleje Havn. Shot among the beaches and boatyards where shipwrights haul out, scrape, and cover their boats, the collection takes its cue from the practical, protective clothing of those who work by the water.

It is a return to the nautical lineage that has long informed Norse Projects — garments made to be worn hard, cared for, and carried through the seasons. Created for Life — Good for All Seasons. by @norseprojects
