Barn Owl (Tyto alba)
•
The barn owl is one of the most widespread owls in the world, found on every continent except Antarctica. It’s recognized by its pale, heart-shaped face and ghost-like flight, it has been closely associated with humans for thousands of years, often nesting in barns, church towers, and old structures!
-
Historically speaking, barn owls were highly valued by farming communities for their role in controlling rodent populations; one owl can consume thousands of mice in a year. Across cultures, they’ve carried mixed symbolism: protection and wisdom in some traditions, mystery and superstition in others. Their near-silent flight, made possible by specialized feather edges, has long fascinated naturalists and contributed to their almost mythical reputation.
-
Fun fact: Barn owls can hunt in complete darkness due to their slightly uneven ears which allows it to pinpoint prey by sound alone with astonishing accuracy, even under snow or tall grass.
-
Despite this mystique, barn owls are highly practical survivors with no known predators. They are adaptable, efficient hunters whose presence reflects the health of open landscapes and human-shared environments. Essentially, it’s a massive positive to see them in our environments🤗

Astro Photography has always been a high interest of mine. I never tried it out because I was nervous of it coming out terribly and not knowing how to do it properly. But after some YouTube videos and convincing myself it was worth a try, I took a chance, and it payed off.

•

At first the raw files came back so dim and trashy I didn’t think anything from the shoot was usable. Months went by where these images sat on my computer and I was too afraid/unsure of how to make them useable. After about 6 hours of researching different editing techniques to save photos and trying them out I was able to balance the exposure and color contrast and turn it into something beautiful. I would by no means say this is a perfect image as I see areas for improvement. But this is an image I’m proud of and makes me want to shoot more Astro shots soon. If you stayed with me until the end of this thank you and I hope you enjoy my journey and work.

The #audi R8 💙 spotted @pghcnc @makeawishamerica meet a few weeks back 👀
.
#redefined what a modern supercar could be. Powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2L V10 shared with its Italian cousin, the Lamborghini Gallardo, it combined exotic performance with everyday drivability. With razor-sharp handling, timeless design, and a soundtrack that only a high-revving V10 can deliver, the R8 quickly became an icon.

Its reputation reached beyond the road when it became the personal supercar of Tony Stark, appearing throughout the Iron Man films and helping cement the R8's place in automotive and pop culture history
