Northcentral Electric Cooperative’s Annual Meeting will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. at the Northcentral auditorium in Olive Branch. Members will hear updates from the cooperative, participate in board elections, and have a chance to win door prizes.

A reminder about this year’s board elections: We have again partnered with Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS) to administer the upcoming vote. From the classroom to the field! ⚡

This month, students in the Utility Lineworker Program at Northwest Mississippi Community College are interning with us, gaining hands-on experience alongside our crews in the field. They’re putting their training into practice while learning more about the skills, safety practices, and day-to-day work that go into a career in linework.

Our partnership with Northwest is an extension of what being a cooperative is all about: education, training, and investing in the people who will serve our communities for years to come.

We’re proud to play a part in preparing the next generation of lineworkers and to give these students an opportunity to learn from the people who do this work every day. by @northcentral_ec

Calling all high school juniors! 📣

Ready to learn, grow, and experience something truly unforgettable?

We're now accepting applications for the 2027 Cooperative Youth Leaders program! Selected delegates will have the opportunity to build leadership skills, meet students from across Mississippi, and experience firsthand how cooperatives make a difference in the communities we serve.

And the experience doesn’t stop there. Delegates will also have the opportunity to participate in the Youth Tour of Washington, D.C., for a week filled with history, new friendships, and memories that last well beyond high school.

Applicants MUST have a parent or legal guardian with a Northcentral Electric Cooperative residential or business membership.

As #NationalPreparednessMonth comes to a close, remember that a little planning now can make a big difference when the unexpected happens.

Take a few minutes to talk with your family about:
• Where you’ll meet if you’re separated.
• How you’ll communicate if cell service is limited.
• Who will check on older relatives or neighbors.
• What you’ll do if an outage lasts several hours or longer.

At Northcentral, preparation matters for us, too. When outages happen, our crews are ready to respond safely and get power restored as quickly as possible. by @northcentral_ec

It’s National Farm Safety & Health Week.

As harvest season approaches, Northcentral reminds our farming members to stay vigilant around power lines and other electrical equipment.

Keep an eye out for overhead lines when moving combines, grain augers, and other tall equipment, and remember that fiber lines and other communication lines may also be present around fields and roadways.

We’re proud to power the farms that help power our communities. A safe harvest starts with awareness. Swipe through for a few important reminders to keep in mind this season.
