Last week, a group of our seventh-grade students visited the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in Newark. During the visit, students toured the courthouse, spent time in a judge’s courtroom and chambers, and sat in on an active trial. The experience offered a direct connection to their recent unit on Hammurabi’s Code, giving them a chance to compare ancient legal concepts with how the modern justice system operates today. by @northplainfieldschools

Throughout October, West End students took part in the “From Pumpkin Spice to Pumpkin Nice” Positive Behavior Support in Schools (PBSIS) Challenge! Students practiced respectful communication and positive problem-solving, earning Orange Westies for putting those skills into action. The month wrapped up with winning classes from each grade creating West End’s Respect Pumpkin Patch, celebrating the many ways we can show respect! #NPProjectUpdate - The District put the High School elevator reconstruction project out to bid in fall 2025, and construction has now been completed! The contractor has contacted the state inspector to schedule the required inspection, with the earliest available date being October 30, 2026. The District is working to secure an earlier inspection date, if possible.

We expected the substantial completion to be August 31, 2026. After substantial completion in September, the inspectors stated we needed to install sump pumps in both elevators. by @northplainfieldschools
