More images and details have been released on a planned giant data centre next to the Menai Strait.

The plans are for the Ferodo site at Griffiths Crossroads near Caernarfon.

During Chester Racecourse’s Virgin Bet Autumn Festival today, racegoers were treated to the return of the fan-favorite Dachshund Derby, where 11 spirited sausage dogs sprinted for the coveted title of 'Top Dog'.

First introduced in 2025, the mini-race was brought back by popular demand after winning over the crowds. The 11 canine competitors earned their spots on the track through a fiercely contested social media competition.

Taking the crown this year was five-year-old Shelby, who showed serious speed as she dashed down the world’s oldest operational racecourse.

Before taking to the track, the pups paraded through the parade ring, where nearly two-year-old Jax stole the spotlight and snapped up the ‘Best Turned Out’ award.

Reflecting on the day, Sam Martin, Head of Marketing and Communications at Chester Race Company, shared: “The Dachshund Derby was another huge hit this year! People absolutely adored it when we launched it last year, so bringing it back was a no-brainer. It brings so much extra joy to our guests and gives a whole new, delightful meaning to ‘small victories’.” by @northwaleslive

Police have vowed to take action against offenders following repeated incidents of arson, criminal damage, and anti-social behaviour at Dinorwig Quarry.

Officers from the North Wales Police Rural Crime Team warned the heritage site, in Gwynedd, which forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site landscape, is suffering lasting damage to its historic slate structures and listed buildings.

To protect the area, police are introducing CCTV alongside a combination of high-visibility and covert patrols in partnership with local landowners. by @northwaleslive

To honour the memory of their friend Josh Lloyd Roberts, a group of his closest mates have taken on an extraordinary 100-mile walk from Everton’s stadium to Caernarfon Town's home pitch at The Oval.

Josh was a passionate football fan, a talented player, and a beloved member of his community who tragically passed away in 2023 at just 19 years old.
