🌱 From green ideas to investable businesses

At the second Green Finance Forum, 8 Tanzanian green ventures pitched their businesses, putting the spotlight on an important question: how do we build a stronger pipeline of green businesses that are ready for investment?

For Tanzania, the green transition and the wider development agenda increasingly go hand in hand.
For Tanzania, and globally, the green transition and the wider development agenda increasingly go hand in hand. Public finance alone will not be enough to meet the scale of the challenge. Mobilising private capital, strengthening local businesses and developing investable green ventures is therefore essential.

Norway is proud to support this work through Norad’s support to IUCN, which has partnered with CEO Roundtable in Tanzania on the Green Finance Forum.

The forum shows the potential of bringing development cooperation, business and investment closer together, connecting promising green ventures with the capital and partnerships they need to grow.

🌍✨ Empowering Africa’s next generation of climate negotiators.

Last week in Dar es Salaam, young climate leaders from 16 African countries came together for the African Youth Climate Negotiators Academy and the launch of the African Youth Climate Negotiations Centre (AYCNC).

Supported by Norway 🇳🇴 the initiative helps equip young professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to engage in international climate negotiations and shape Africa’s climate future. 🌱🤝🌍

We thank our partner, the United Nations Development Programme @undptz for coordinating the event.
Investing in youth leadership today means stronger climate action for tomorrow.

By strengthening young Africans’ climate negotiation skills, the initiative helped lay the groundwork for a more sustainable future one where their voices can help shape solutions that protect communities, livelihoods, and the environment.

Advancing high-integrity carbon markets in Tanzania

The Royal Norwegian Embassy joined the Government of Tanzania, the National Carbon Monitoring Centre (NCMC) @ncmctanzania, @undptz , the Tanzania Carbon Developers Association @TaCADEVA) and other partners at the Tanzania Carbon Market and Investment Forum 2026 in Dar es Salaam.

The Forum brought together government representatives, project developers, investors, financiers, development partners and members of Parliament to discuss how Tanzania can build a transparent, credible and investment-ready carbon market while ensuring strong environmental integrity and benefits for local communities.

Hon. Eng. Hamad Yussuf Masauni (MP), Minister of State in the Vice President’s Office (Union and Environment), launched MRV4TZ. Funded by Norway🇹🇿 and implemented through UNDP, the project strengthens NCMC and lays the groundwork for a national carbon registry and digital measurement, reporting and verification system supporting climate transparency, access to climate finance and high-integrity carbon markets.

Norway is proud to support Tanzania’s efforts to mobilise greater public and private climate finance and promote sustainable, low-carbon development through strong national systems and international cooperation. 🌍🌱

“I am standing here because someone believed in a young woman and gave her an opportunity.”

Doreen got a chance to experience leadership firsthand as she took on the role of Norwegian Ambassador for a Day @norwayintz @plannorge

Visiting the R/V Dr. Fridtjof Nansen research vessel, she discussed climate solutions and the importance of youth participation. She later joined women leaders at the Ambassador’s residence for a luncheon exploring their journeys into leadership, the challenges they faced and the role of mentorship in decision-making.

“I see myself as a real changemaker,” Doreen shared, speaking about her ambition to help other girls in her community find opportunities and pursue their goals.

Giving girls a chance to experience leadership today can open doors for them to take on greater roles in shaping tomorrow’s decisions.

«Every morning at 9am, Ukraine stops. Across cities in Ukraine, loudspeakers normally used to warn of incoming Russian air strikes broadcast the steady tick of a clock. City streets full of life fall silent. Traffic lights turn red. Cars stop. For one minute, a country pauses.

This is Ukraine’s daily moment of silence, a nationwide act of remembrance for those killed in Russia’s illegal war.»
