Here is one of my more favorite Lego banners. Display Flag Cloth, Studios 2000 (shows 1349). Item No: Stu00Ban1

Similar to the other banners I have shown, this is a official promotional and retail display banner released by LEGO in 2000.

Honestly the green T-rex from back in the day is my favorite Lego animal mould that Lego has made (hence why I like this banner so much). But I also really appreciated this banner for the set itself, the 1349 Steven Spielberg Movie Maker set was such a great kit back in the day. It truly inspired kids to play but also be creative, intorducing them into cinematography and movie making. To this day, it remains one of my top 3 sets Lego has ever made.

Here we have some prototype helmets from Knights Kingdom ii (the officially released mold on left, the prototype on the right.)

Interestingly, the prototypes have some significant mold differences, including indentation circles instead of protrusions inside of the helmets, helmet peg size, and size of helmets. You can also notice how crude and imperfect the ejection spot was.

I wish the santis helmet was in the mix. It would have been cool to have all 4 helmets as prototypes. But, this shall suffice!

Here is an item I have wanted for a while now. I finally own the famous mechanical pull-along wooden duck! This is the quacking Version 3 (V3) model (item number 482). The wooden duck concept was made near the beginning in 1934 through 1959. The V3 was sold between 1949-1959 (unconfirmed but potentially as early as 1943 even).

Unlike the hand painted models from the 30s and early to mid 40s, these were spray-painted using stencil overlays. Also unlike other versions, the V3 has a "rap" function, a metal wire that would *twang* against a paper fiber cardboard when the wheel axles rotated, acting as a 'quack' sound. This particular paintjob variant is the most common, however they are decently uncommon in this good of condition.

A random online "source", states only 20 of V2 exist, and 100 of the V3 ducks exist after surviving the tests of time. This is very likely untrue.. from what I have gathered, my guess is there are at least several hundred, if not thousands of the V3 ducks that remain (likely a hundred to couple of hundred of V2). Most are just in museums in europe, or in private collector's hands, making them seem exceedingly rare.

To conclude, the pull-along wooden duck is widely considered the most iconic wooden toy in LEGO's history. And is a part of the story to LEGO's motto, "Only the best is good enough."  To have a true piece of Lego's history in my collection, is truly exquisite. Especially considering this is my number 2 most wanted Lego item!

Also, wow! This is my 100th post! What a way to post that milestone haha. Last slide has a video! Sound on!

The famous Ring-eye "Prototype" horse! A well-known 1984 horse prototype designed by Niels Milan Pedersen. With the intriguing, distinctive rings around the eyes. (They honestly make me think of big ol googly eyes 🤣)

Some of the first early horses to be produced in Billund had rings around the eyes because the team accidentally approved the prototype mould for production instead of the one without rings. They quickly corrected this issue, however since enough were made, the ones with rings were used for store displays and product photos for many years afterwards. Like shown on the last slide!

An interesting thing to note, is there are other differences from the official mould vs. the ring eyed prototype mould. For example, how the edges are rounded over, and the grooves in the tail are more defined. Truly, a wonderful piece to have in the collection!

(Now I gotta think of a name for him... Googly Eye George? 🤣)

Minifigure, Hair Combo, Gliter Trans-light blue Hair with Hat, Long Hair with 2 Braids over Shoulders with Molded Black Witch Hat Pattern. Element number 80340

This is an unreleased lego part, a beautifully designed dual mold for the hair and hat together. It was meant to be used for a Witch from the Vidiyo line in 2022, however the theme was canceled before its release.

The hat itself is actually different from the DnD witch cmf, however I think the hair portion of the dual mold is entirely the same. I haven't seen what the full official minifigure was supposed to look like, so I decided to make my own custom minifigure using the hair and hat piece. Enjoy!

You thought we were done with the Anubis helmet? Say hello to another one.

This black prototype Anubis helmet is what was meant to be in the canceled set 7430, an Egyptian Pyramid, Johnny Thunder set. The 7430 kit would have had 2 black Anubis helmets and a metallic gold one. Unlike the dark blue one, which I am unaware of any use case for it in a particular planned kit.

As a quick recap, the theme would have been released in 2005, and was an extended subtheme of adventures titled "Adventure: Egypt". However, it was canceled along with the dinosaur subtheme as well.

I don't think anyone has posted two prototype anubis helmets together... so I decided to put them together for a couple of photos.

The Lego Wooden Refrigerated Truck (Product Number 613), was produced between 1949 and 1954. This pull along truck features a fully enclosed, single refrigerator reefer where the top can be removed to store items inside. Allowing kids a bit more playability with their imagination.

Other than the Wooden Tractor, I think this is perhaps my favorite of the non-animal wooden toys that I currently own.

Duck
Item number 213/2. An adorable and small duck. This is an oldie, not as iconic as the famous V2 or V3 wooden ducks, but I find it charming in its simplicity.

This duck design was produced from 1937 through 1958, so it has been through almost the entirety of Lego's wooden era history. While it is not one of my two white whales, I am still ecstatic to have this duck in the family of wooden toys that I own.
