From One to Another takes its name from the human connections that made the Underground Railroad possible — person to person, hand to hand, each act of courage passed forward. The program moves through the museum as a pathway of musical duos, each responding to the exhibitions, the building, and the Ohio River below. Music from the past and present. History you can hear. WHO: @concertnova WHAT: From One to Another WHERE: National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, 50 E. Freedom Way, Cincinnati WHEN: Wednesday, May 7 + Thursday, May 8 | 7:30 PM This immersive walking concert leads audiences through the museum in a chain of musical duos, each responding to specific exhibitions and the building’s location on the Ohio River, a historic gateway to freedom. Featuring music from the past and the present, the program draws meaning from Cincinnati’s history as a stop on the Underground Railroad.  PROGRAM “Music for a While” for violin and guitar — Henry Purcell, arr. Presented in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings and the 50th anniversary of Wilmington College’s Peace Resource Center, this powerful performance tells the true story of three musical instruments that survived World War II and the people who once played them. Composer Dai Fujikura collaborated with German playwright duo Tauchgold to create this narratorio (a hybrid of play and oratorio) which combines live music and storytelling in a theatrical reflection on war, memory, and hope. Musicians: Anna Reider, violin Luis Celis, bass Anna Vinnitsky, piano Actors: TaShauna Jenkins Darnell Pierre Benjamin Daniela Nenova Justin McCombs by @nostandingstudio
Another loaded carousel of street art in Breda. This time INSIDE the @stedelijk_museum_breda STREET ART MUSEUM The Boschstraat in 13 Blind Walls  ….quite literally brought street art INTO the museum. Artists painted directly onto the gallery’s walls. After the exhibit they were all to be painted over—honoring the impermanent nature of street art. It was particularly inspiring to see how the “prompt” of representing Breda’s past, present, and future integrated each mural so personally with the city itself. It was a rich way to be reintroduced to this lovely city and the perfect compliment to Breda’s epic “living museum”, that @blindwallsgallery has worked so diligently to create. by @nostandingstudio
Finally getting around to posting about all the incredible urban ART I got to see on my travels this summer. @blindwallsgallery is leading an incredible mural program in Breda and it was a joy running around with @sakiwaki catching as much as we could. by @nostandingstudio

It hasn’t even been two months since the devastating fires in Los Angeles and for a LOT of folx the rebuilding process is still just beginning. With the initial wave of attention starting to wane, Cincinnati musicians have come together to send an additional wave of support from our music community directly to fire-impacted musicians in LA. 100% of ticket proceeds and limited edition poster sales all go to @altadenamusicians , an instrument replacement program for musicians affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. Their registry matches fire-impacted musicians with donations to replace instruments and music gear lost in the LA fires. Ticket 🔗 in bio. Thanks to the generosity of the incredible musicians in this lineup, we invite you to join us for an evening of music and mutual aid! Poster by @evan.is.social by @nostandingstudio
