So beyond blessed to be able to share God’s message—my new book, “You Are Enough”—and pour into the students at the Anani Memorial International School in Accra, Ghana.
This trip meant so much to me because I saw something bigger than myself in these kids. I saw purpose and potential. I saw beauty and power. It was such a privilege to give to these kids, contribute to so many vibrant smiles, and remind them that they are ENOUGH.💜🌳🪞👩🏾‍🦱 #bookdebut #youareenough taken in Anani Memorial International School by @not__brooke

To Jack and Jill of America, thank you for creating a safe space for me to be myself and share my gifts with others like me. Thank you for giving me opportunity to be someone more than myself and pour into others through leadership and service.

Someone asked me the other day: “Why are you so obsessed with Jack and Jill? Why do you go on all these trips with them?” and I said my answer was simple. Everyday I would walk into school hoping to be understood, hoping to fit in with my peers that I see every single day, assimilating into a space that had not been made with me in mind, assimilating with people who did not care about who I truly was. But when I went to my first national Jack and Jill trip, everything was electric and within a weekend I made friends for a lifetime (shoutout @gramrebooted and @julia.thompson__ ). And frankly, I couldn’t stop going on these trips and making friends and connections with people just like me, being in a space where it was easy to open up your true self with new people with just a chance of seeing old friends was the best feeling after being confined to an unwelcoming environment for so long.
So with all of that, thank you @jackandjillinc
Thank you to MY mom for introducing me to this incredible organization.
Thank you to all of the mothers who work tirelessly for our enjoyment.
Thank you for making us leaders, you must.
Thank you for pouring into the leader and giver within me.
Thank you for the opportunity to work, to play, and to live within this wonderful organization.

how grateful am i to have a village that surrounds me with so much love?

my graduation from ensworth hasn’t just given me my diploma, it’s made me realize all the love that is around me. after moving so much and never having the time to build long term connections with people, i felt alone. there was no where to call home, and no one to associate home with. so when it came to big events, i didn’t want to celebrate them anymore because i felt no one never truly wanted to care and therefore, could not give me the recognition and love that i would have liked. this weekend made me understand that there are so much more people who support and love me than i thought there were and i’m so blessed to call them my family. happy grad😁🎓🍾 by @not__brooke
