NOT A TOY—a band less concerned with fitting into a genre and more interested in following whatever inspired them. Elements of alternative pop, hip-hop, emo, electronic production, and cinematic storytelling all found their way into the music. Ask them to describe it today, and they’ll usually settle on one phrase:

“Cinematic Dark Alt Pop.”

A blend of alternative pop, emo influences, hip-hop production, cinematic storytelling, and dark emotional undertones, the genre itself feels remarkably similar to the books many of our readers love—a little dangerous, a little vulnerable, and entirely immersive.

Read our full interview with @notatoy in Romantasy Illustrated Volume 8. Available now in both digital and print formats!

Catch their European tour this winter with @wearevoila and @giorgioaustin 🖤
