I just had my last Wednesday night class with my preschool class at church. I’ll still have them for Sunday mornings so it’s okay, but I will miss having them every Wednesday night. They’re so creative, funny, and unique in their own ways and I hope they always have that.

A few weeks ago we did a lesson on the Body of Christ, and what it means to be the Body of Christ. I explained how it takes everyone in the church to do what Jesus has called us to do. I thought doing this project of cutting up pieces of an outline of a person on a coloring sheet, having them draw of their own piece, and putting it back together would help them understand that it takes everybody. And I get this crazy, chaotic, but amazing result. At the end, I say okay guys what are we naming it? And the name “JellyBean Dolphin” was the unanimous choice. I love it! I think it really displays what teaching a preschool class at church is like. Especially what ours looks like which is a bunch of chaos, but a whole lot of love.

I love these kids and I will miss them on Wednesdays, but I’m lucky because they are the best and I’ve got to be a small part of their experience in church. I love their hearts. This wild collage of the creativity of these kids will forever be in my heart! I love you guys 💛 by @notcarlyquebert

I saw this book on TikTok and had to get it. As someone who is so impatient, it is hard for me to remember what all the waiting is for. At first I thought “Why in the world do I want a book for preschoolers?” But sometimes it’s the simple things that really convict you. I used it for a lesson for my preschool kids tonight at church. I asked them if they liked to wait when their parents have a surprise for them. One of these sweet babies said that she liked waiting because she knows her parents know what makes her happy. It made me realize we need to have that mindset. God always knows what is best for us and we need to accept that He is going to put all the time He can into things to make them perfect. We need to trust his timing. If you’re looking for a book for your kids or just something simple to speak to you, I would definitely recommend this!
