Brands are quietly becoming entertainment studios. And almost no one’s talking about it.

Gap just hired a Chief Entertainment Officer. LVMH launched a production company to service 75 brands. Dick’s, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A — all building studios.

Here’s why: brands spend $70B a year on attention that disappears every December. The budget resets to zero. Nothing they can own.

But the loyalty we feel for Stranger Things, for Friends, for Harry Potter? That’s what they actually want. And you don’t get it by interrupting the show. You get it by being the show.

It’s the same wall networks hit in the 2010s — tired of paying for shows they’d never own, so they built their own studios. Brands are now at that exact turn.

So I’m starting a series: what would different brands look like as entertainment studios? First up — Gap.

Every trip leaves a mark — on us and on what we carry.

So for the final episode of Brands as Studios, I asked: what if Rimowa took that idea and built an entire entertainment studio around it?

And one of the quickest ways to lose us? A character who only reacts to the story happening around them.

Run the Agency Check:

We have GOT to stop overfunctioning.

The last few months have taught me that being able to function through something doesn’t necessarily mean I should.

Grief, loss and major life changes forced me to learn how to actually regulate my nervous system—and these are a few things that have genuinely helped me feel grounded, present and like myself again:

Meditation. Mindset. Breathwork. Journaling. Prayer. Receiving.

And chocolate. A lot of chocolate.

Especially for my girls who have made an entire lifestyle out of “I’m fine, I got it” — consider this your reminder that you don’t always have to.
