Ok so let's talk about the during process with gardening/planning/designing.

Its a mess but when you have an idea of how you feel the space should look then its worth it in the end. This garden started off with some very large trees which were cut down. The owner is in the process of chopping the trunk up for logs for their wood burner.

So what we've planned for this space is (where the logs are) a seating space with either gravel or slab walkways towards the seating area, past the seating area to the log store and then a separate walk way past the seating area towards the other side of the bed to the left. A hidden pathway towards the coal store which will be hidden but usable by shrubs.

I've placed plants that the owner has bought and planted them after letting the owner live with the plants in that space in pots. After I planted I placed more plants for the owner to live with.

This is only the start of the garden space and eventually it will be gorgeous and I can't wait to see how it looks but remember gardens are forever changing and are never complete but close to perfection ❤️

Rose bed has been weeded and munched with extra help!

The other beds are now being weeded and cut back to reveal more plants hidden and let them see the light and grow for next year.

The Abelia is looking fantastic and I am definitely considering this shrub in my garden 😍

Ps yes the photos were blurry for some reason 😅

Plants that are still performing beautifully at the end of October 😍

Berberis: Beautifully spiky small leaves with yellow flowers

Coleus: Deep red in colour with edging of yellow which shines brightly in autumn

Wallflower: Soft pinks which make me desperately want some 😍

Dianthus: Hardy Perennial which I've had flower at Christmas 🫨 Easy to care for

Rose: No idea of this Variety but its a deep pink with a beautiful fruity scent and its flowering

Agastache & Snapdragons: Navajo Sunset next to Black Prince is a gorgeous complimentary colour combination similar in flower shape too

Calendula: Its a mixture of seeds I threw on the ground so could be any variety. Its so beautiful 😍

Calendula, Nasturtium & Verbena Rigida: The blue/green colour of the Nasturtium leaves, soft amber yellow colour of the Calendula and the rich deep purple of the Verbena is a beautiful contrast

Scabious: Snowmaiden this one is an annual but the white is so soft

Before and after🌸

It may not be as drastic but there was so many foxgloves, forgetmenot and bulbs coming up. Weeding amongst the seedlings is actually time consuming but we'll worth it in the end. Gravel was also weeded too.

Viburnum that was all congested. Branches crossing each other and no shape.

Its now got a new lease of life. It will grow beautifully in spring after its hard prune 🌳🌸🌱

Before

After: Mown the lawn and swept up

Before

After: topped these roses up with a rose, shrub and tree compost to give them a nice feed. You can do this now or spring just depends on what time you've got available. I also pruned the roses to give them a better airflow. The next time I come I will de-foliate the leaves

Before

After: Weeded and topped up some mulch using the compost to give the roses in the ground a feed by @notjustanothergarden

Some good before and afters

Chopped these shrubs hard and trust me they were huge hiding up in the cherry tree! I did have some help with a chainsaw and the lovely Laura who i work for as some of this was hard

Planted some geraniums too because we always need geraniums in the garden 💕

Look at the difference 2 weeks makes 😄

2 weeks ago I had started the process of seeding patches in the grass for a customer garden. This is fantastic results. I haven't mown this part as they are just a bit fragile but next time I will be mowing it 🙌

The second picture is another section that I had seeded 😍

Grass lines and planting some beautiful "Creme Brulee" Heuchera.

Did you know this lighter colour of Heuchera performs better in more shade whereas the deeper colours performs better in my sun 🌞

Todays job:

Tidying up this bed, weeding, moving plants that need to be in the right place, trimming shrubs and making the bed much more manageable 😍

Simple but worthy 😌 ✨️
