Before racing through the streets of Jakarta, we're looking back on the memories we made in Kintamani. The mountains, the breeze, the heat, and the laughter we shared last month. Until next time, Bali!

The boys are back in our familiar playground: Jakarta.

Battling the city’s high humidity from 5 AM, Awan gave it his all in pursuit of his fastest 10K yet. The magical sub-50 didn’t happen that day, but it was still a PB.

Rico made his 10K debut, while Okky took on his first-ever half marathon. Surprisingly, they both finished faster than anyone expected, overcoming their pre-race jitters with confidence.

Ucha made his comeback after a long injury layoff. Starting with a shorter distance, he completed his first 5K in a while. This young man is officially back on the road. Welcome back!

“Pikiran yang tenang dan pacing yang matang” was probably the best phrase to describe Maul that morning. Racing a half marathon in the middle of a busy touring schedule? Somehow, he made it happen. :)

Vinodii treated this half marathon as a key training run ahead of his marathon debut at Gold Coast. He also set a new half marathon PB, a good sign that his preparation for Gold Coast is right on track.

Sunday was truly a battle against the heat. There’s no better word to describe Luiz that morning than ngeyel. And yes, he completed his second marathon and set another personal best.

Until next time, Jakarta! by @notonlyweekdays

Humbled by Mt. Abang & Trunyan

It was a debut 60K race for our four brave men: Fadel, Gilang, Nezka, and Luiz.

Sharpened by Middle Eastern desert, Fadel ran through the first half of the route as fast as possible. But by the Trunyan checkpoint, he started feeling uncomfortable pain around his crotch. While dealing with severe chafing, he pulled out his secret trick and decided to keep walking until he finally reached the finish line around 8 PM.

At kilometer 30, Nezka and Luiz decided not to continue the race due to timing. Even though they wanted to push harder, sometimes making a wise decision is better than wrecking yourself. On a sacred mountain like this, completing half the route is never as easy as it looks from the comfort of your sofa.

Then the sun went down, and the kilometers passed by. Gilang tried to push his luck and effort all the way to the finish line. Unfortunately, time was not on his side that day. As the cold wind blew and the mountain became shrouded in fog, he couldn’t beat the cut-off time. But like a gentleman, he still decided to finish the route. Mad respect.

Today, as we celebrate the finishers, we also celebrate the bravery of these four horseman. Taking their first steps across the starting line and keeping their heads held high despite the result. Maybe not that day, maybe tomorrow.

Surely, the three of them will come back stronger to earn their ultra medals. And maybe, a second medal for Fadel.

Chin up, boys!

Sunbathing at Black Lava

Maybe it was just another race for Heikal, Fitri, Awan, Gana, Dilla, and Vinodi. But it was a big day for Reza and Yavi as they made their 30K debut.

As predicted, hard training and proper preparation never betray race results. Gana and Vinodi finished in around 6 hours as they ran steadily through the climbs and descents of Mount Batur.

The real winner was Yavi. Coming to Kintamani with his lovely wife, who turned into full tiger mom mode before the race. “Make it in four hours,” said Andin to Yavi. We knew it was a joke, but Yavi moved fast like a true gentleman who couldn’t wait any longer to reunite with his wife at the finish line. And yes, he did it in under 6 hours.

Meanwhile, it turned into a long walk in the park for Awan, Fitri, and Heikal. Separated during the first half of the race, they reunited at the Value of Run x Thule water station. Deciding to take it easy, they enjoyed the heat of the black lava through a long chit-chat power walk. But they still took the race seriously when they pushed themselves hard in the final kilometers before crossing the finish line, just 20 minutes before the cut-off time. Dilla arrived 10 minutes later. This little Singaporean girl simply added another 30K medal to her race collection.

Oh wait, where was Reza? No messages. No answers to our calls. Until one hour after the cut-off time, Reza finally sent us a selfie. Enjoying an ojek ride and his lunch. He decided not to continue the race due to timing, but as far as we know, he truly enjoyed the race, the views, and Mount Batur’s brutal terrain. And from the smile in that selfie, we knew he still won that day.

Perfect Day for Our Trail Debutants

2026 has been full of surprises. Last year, Gian, Icad, and Dewinda didn’t even take trail running seriously. But on that breezy Sunday, they made it to the BTR starting line. For Okky, it was his second shot at conquering a trail race after that heartbreaking split-second miss at BTS last year.

Safe to say, Okky played it a little too safe by taking the 18K category. Built for speed, he ran fast through the Mount Batur climbs and Culali descent. He only needed 3 hours and 8 minutes to finish it.

Meanwhile, Gian and Icad cruised through the route steadily. Like Tsubasa and Misaki, they pushed each other from the start all the way to the (supposed) finish line. But in the final kilometer, Icad decided to make things dramatic for himself, letting Gian chase the finish line first while he casually changed the song on his playlist. King of gimmicks.

As the breeze rolled in and the sun came out over Batur Hot Spring Lake, Dewinda crossed her first ever 18K trail race finish line. The traffic while climbing Mount Batur didn’t stop her from finishing under the cut-off time. She made it at the perfect moment, as the Not Only Weekdays crew (especially Gilang 🫶🏻) accompanied her during the final push.

Dramatic finish!
