When you know it’s time for you to take a moment to yourself.

To soothe away the days stresses.

‘Womens Balance’ from Neals Yard has a beautiful aroma made with organic oils that can help relax and calm, allowing time to truly nourish yourself.

In honour of menopause awareness month you can claim this lovely foaming bath gift when you spend £60.

Enjoy ‘Women’s Balance’ collection yourself and/ or buy something for someone to let them know you’re thinking of them.

Menopause can be really tough and while moments to nourish yourself may not fix everything, they do allow you to recharge and replenish rather than constantly trying to run on empty.

DM me ‘Womens Balance’ before end of October for this special offer by @nourishing_space

SOLUBLE VS INSOLUBE FIBRE - WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

There are two main types of fibre and they have two different jobs:

🅰️ Soluble fibre: dissolves in water and forms a gel. This slows digestion, feeds good bacteria, and can help balance cholesterol and lipids.

🅱️ Insoluble fibre: bulks up your poo. It helps to keep things moving, supports detoxification and prevents constipation.

The good news is that fibre-rich foods contain both and remember variety is the key!

✴️ BONUS - Want to flourish in your middle years and beyond? Not sure where to start? You've tried several things but feel confused or that you're not making the progress you'd like? Drop me a DM or click the link in bio 🔗 . I'm always happy to have a chat about how you start moving towards making the changes you want!

Imagine where you could be three months from now if you take that first step...

FIBRE BOOST!

Here are some more ways to boost your fibre intake:

1️⃣ 1 tbsp chia or flax in your yoghurt = 4–5g
2️⃣ Skin-on fruit like apples or pears = 3–4g
3️⃣ Handful of lentils in a salad = 4–5g
4️⃣ Wholegrain toast instead of white = 2–3g
5️⃣ Adding beans to salads, soup, stew or chilli = 6–8g

A tablespoon here and there really does add up!

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON’T EAT ENOUGH FIBRE?

The most obvious one is probably constipation but loose bowel movements could also benefit from more fibre intake.

There's more to it than good regular poops 💩. It’s about functioning well at every level.

A low-fibre diet has been linked to:

🛑 Higher LDL cholesterol
🛑 Increased risk of heart disease
🛑 Blood sugar swings and insulin resistance
🛑 Disrupted oestrogen clearance
🛑 Poor microbiome diversity (and downstream inflammation)
🛑 Sluggish digestion and constipation

Most UK adults are getting around 15–18g per day.

We need 3️⃣0️⃣ grams
How are you making sure you’re getting enough?

WAYS FIBRE SUPPORTS HORMONE HEALTH

Here’s how fibre works its magic on your hormones:

🙌 Clears excess oestrogen via the gut
🙌 Stabilises blood sugar (less insulin = less hormone chaos)
🙌 Feeds your microbiome which impacts hormone signalling and supports thyroid health indirectly via gut health
🙌 Supports long term heart health lowering blood pressure and improving lipid profiles
🙌 Keeps your bowels moving

🤩 Bonus - Fibre also helps you feel fuller for longer and supports midlife weight balance, what’s not to love!
