Heroines of Sound is a Berlin-based FLINTA festival dedicated to pioneering women and gender-diverse artists in electronic music, sound art, and experimental performance. The 2026 edition explores the intersection of sound, technology, and performance, with a special focus on the Asian—particularly Japanese—diaspora. 🎻✨ In Nova Atlantis, Miako Klein and Jia Lim create a sonic space where past and present flow into one another. Inspired by Francis Bacon’s New Atlantis (1626), the duo reimagines Baroque-era music through improvisation, transforming historical materials into fluid, contemporary sound worlds. Harpsichord and Baroque violin become mutable sonic bodies, while electronics stretch, fracture, and reshape familiar timbres. The result is neither historical reconstruction nor modern reinterpretation, but something in between—a space of possibility where time slows down, and new forms emerge. Released as an album in 2026, Nova Atlantis invites us to listen across centuries and imagine history as something alive, evolving, and open-ended. @miakoklein @jia.keys @nova.atlantis 📅 Thursday, 9 July 2026 📍 @radialsystem_berlin Link in bio to tickets and times #HeroinesOfSound #NovaAtlantis #MiakoKlein #JiaLim #ContemporaryMusic ExperimentalMusic taken in Radialsystem by @nova.atlantis

Today, 400 years ago, Francis Bacon passed away. In 1626, he wrote Nova Atlantis — a visionary text that continues to inspire us and our album. “We have also sound-houses, where we practice and demonstrate all sounds and their generation…” A place of imagined acoustics, unheard harmonies, artificial echoes, and transformed voices — a laboratory of sound. We just set up our own sound house. Curious what it sounds like? Join us this Sunday, 5pm at Ehrenfeldstudios as part of :unlimited series by @zamus_koeln #FrancisBacon #NovaAtlantis #electronicbaroque #earlymusic #electroacoustic taken in ehrenfeldstudios e.V. by @nova.atlantis
