Mom! I got the cover story of a magazine… as a writer this time… at almost 8 months pregnant! 🥲

I never post about my writing and journalism here, but this was too exciting not to share... This feature felt so special because as I reported on how AI is changing higher ed, I was also dreaming about the education my baby (and every kid) deserves.

There’s so much hype around AI right now, but the biggest takeaway was that there’s no formula for how to responsibly integrate these tools into classrooms and into our lives. We’ll have to figure it out case by case, hopefully making good use of “the organ between our ears,” as one of the professors I talked to put it. This is not the moment to go on autopilot.

Ok, done with bragging. Now back to eating, napping, and cuddling with my cat and @peterbatesko nonstop while I wait for this big little one to pop. 😌

P.s. You can read the full piece at californiamagazine.org taken in UC Berkeley by @novaesnat

I couldn’t have asked for a more special baby shower! 💝 Living our best Kevin McCallister life.🍦😅

It gives me so much peace to know that this little one will have such amazing and strong role models to look up to (many missing from these photos). Thank you to my dear friends and baby’s grandmas for showering us with so much love. My heart is full! taken in The Plaza Hotel by @novaesnat
