It was an absolute privilege to welcome and meet 21yr old, stunningly gorgeous Eden Golan to Australia, she is a very young woman I deeply admire for her courage and unwavering commitment to her people, the Jewish people. Her first visit to Australia was nothing short of extraordinary, and in my eyes, she is a true hero—a fearless warrior who stands tall against all odds, despite her tiny stature.

Eden’s stunning performance of Hurricane at Eurovision was unforgettable. The song, inspired by the atrocities of October 7, was a hauntingly powerful tribute that captured the heartbreak, resilience, and courage of her people. It was astonishing to witness someone so small in physical form deliver such a towering, fearless message on behalf of her community. Through her voice, she transformed profound pain into a song of strength and defiance that moved millions around the world.

As a proud Aboriginal woman I felt a profound connection to Eden’s work. Both our communities have endured immense challenges, yet we share a determination to fight for justice and pave the way for future generations.

Eden’s courage to confront antisemitism and her dedication to truth are qualities I hold in the highest regard. Her visit reminds us of the importance of standing united against hate and ignorance, advocating for a world where all voices are heard.

Thank you, Eden, for your strength, talent, and inspiration. I hope this is the first of many visits to Australia—you are truly a hero. #endjewhatred #amyisraelchai💙🇮🇱 #hurricane #edengolan✨️❤️🇮🇱💫 #novaperis #releasethehostages🎗️ #starofdavid ✡️ by @novaperis

On Djapana 🌅 (Volume 🔊up) - this song is called Ŋarrpiya!!

Moments like this bring tears to my eyes and so much joy to my heart. ❤️🌿

The @novaperisfoundation proudly supports Bawaka Aboriginal homeland with infrastructure to help this extraordinary place thrive as an iconic tourism destination.

Within days of our last cruise ship visit, another ship arrived, bringing people from across Australia ashore to experience pure Yolŋu culture, stories, healing and a heartfelt welcome to their Homeland.

Thank you to Bawaka’s young leaders for an incredible cultural day. Pictured joining in the singing is @yiwarr4mulka (Yiwarr McGrath our newest member of Mulka electorate. Rural northeastern seat in East Arnhem Land)

To our generous Foundation supporters, thank you. Your investment makes moments like this possible, sustaining culture and creating jobs for generations to come.

What a sick, warped society we are becoming when the anniversary of a massacre cannot be treated with compassion and respect for those murdered, the survivors, their families and a nation still grieving. 🇮🇱

“Heartless rallies on anniversary of Jewish massacre.”
“SYDNEY’S DAY OF SHAME.”

The front page of today’s @dailytelegraph.

Where is our humanity?

On October 7, the victims should be at the centre of our thoughts, absolutely NOT the evil people who murdered them.

There have been many moments in my life when I have been immensely proud to be Australian.

But when people living here in Australia and those whom are Australian citizens celebrate or diminish the murder of innocent Jewish people, they bring shame upon our great nation.

I honestly believe the overwhelming majority of Australians are better than this.

To my Jewish brothers and sisters here in Australia 🇦🇺💔🙏🏾✡️🕊️Once again. I’m so sorry for all you’ve endured. My heart continues to ache ❤️‍🩹 - But I know the LION within.

What an incredible night celebrating my beautiful mother, JP, and her 80 years of life. ❤️

My sister Bam-Bam 💥 (Venessa) and I, along with my children, my grandson Issac and another grandchild on the way, were so happy to share this special milestone with our mum.

She was surrounded by our extended family, her beautiful sisters from Garden Point Mission on the Tiwi Islands and the wonderful friends shes made throughout her life.

It meant so much to have mums foster sister, Aunty Margaret, travel from Adelaide, and Karen Buckley and your ‘other’ grandson Freddy, who’s been such a big part of our lives, come up from Melbourne.

With so many people who love you there, it was a night filled with love, laughter and wonderful memories.

Happy 80th birthday, Mum. Thank you for giving us life, for raising us with discipline and unconditional love, and for being the most amazing mum and best friend to Venessa and me, and a devoted grandmother to my children and to my grandson.

You are so deeply loved. ❤️🌺 taken in Larrakia Country by @novaperis

A reminder for all tourists in the NT to be 🐊 Crocwise 👀 - A tourist at @bawakaexperience fishing bag went missing (with a fish left in it) - He spent hours retracing his steps, thinking someone had taken it! He was right! But it wasn’t a person who took it...it was Nike the Barü 🐊 🤯 #crocwise #nikethebarü #bawakaexperience #northeastarnhemland taken in Bawaka Homeland by @novaperis

Pleased to see the commemorations of the Battle of Semakh, fought on 25 September 1918 in what is now Israel 🇮🇱 on the front page of The Centralian Today.

Thank you to Phil Williams for helping bring this important history to a wider audience.

What still surprises me is that people find it surprising when Aboriginal people support Jewish people and Israel.

Our connections reach back generations. More than 1,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men served Australia during World War I, despite the discrimination they faced here in Australia.

They came from communities denied basic rights, where ration wages & poor living conditions were common. They could not vote, and were excluded from official population totals. Yet within the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) they received the same pay as their fellow soldiers and generally mostly experienced equality denied to them at home.

Among them were the Aboriginal Light Horsemen who fought against Ottoman forces. Their service forms part of the history that preceded the establishment of modern Israel.

At Semakh, in the final months of World War I, Aboriginal men rode beside their fellow Australians into machine-gun fire. Their courage and sacrifice deserve a permanent place in our national memory.

For me, there is also a deep connection through identity, language, ancestry and belonging.

As Aboriginal people, our languages connect us to our Country, our families and who we are. I identify through my own language groups and ancestral lands. I recognise the significance of Hebrew to Jewish identity, and the Jewish people’s enduring unbroken connection to their ancient homeland.

These are distinct cultures and histories, but I recognise something profoundly familiar in that relationship between a people, their language and their land.

Aboriginal people hold different views, as every community does. But my solidarity with Jewish people and Israel should surprise no one. It comes from my understanding of history, my relationships and my own identity.

This connection did not begin with today’s headlines. It has roots far deeper than many people realise.

Lest we forget 🥀 by @novaperis
