There are so many books that I don’t formally review or make a post about, so I thought I would do some mini reviews to show what other books I’ve read lately!! There’s been a good mix of genres, including a non-fiction.

I’m unfortunately in a big thriller rut lately, so give me some recommendations!!

And if you don’t have a thriller rec, tell me what books you’ve been loving lately 💖 by @novelisticpages

I recently finished Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle and WOW, it secured my love for his horror novels. I’ve loved the campiness and gore of the other books I’ve read from him, but this one hit me so much harder.

It tackles so many issues—AI in art/media, profiting off of trauma from marginalized communities, and capitalism—and while some of it is a little heavy handed, I don’t think the message got watered down.

I read this one with my friend, and she is officially on the Chuck Tingle bandwagon!

Current ranking:
1. Bury Your Gays - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
2. Camp Damascus - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
3. Lucky Day - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
4. Fabulous Bodies - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ by @novelisticpages

I saved so many amazing spooky season books for this Fall 🧡 I love to read horror year round, but I also like to set some aside so that I can really get in the mood.

Do you like to read seasonally or is any book free game throughout the year? by @novelisticpages

A little last, now, next for Sunday 💖

I wanted to get one more summer read in before I fully transition into Fall vibes for the year, so I picked up The Summer Girlfriend by Kristina Forest to read today.

When do you start transitioning to Fall? I already have some of my Halloween decorations out bc September always screams Fall to me! by @novelisticpages

Happy release day to See You Next Tuesday!

I was so excited to get an email asking if I wanted an eARC Kate Stayman-London’s new book. I reviewed her last release, Fang Fiction, and read her debut One to Watch when it first was published. And update: I will continue to read everything she publishes!

Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous reading a political romance in our current political climate, but I ended up having such a great time with this. I have no interest in ever working in politics, but I loved seeing all the insights into what working on a political campaign is actually like. There are definitely a lot of political elements (no republicans obvi), but if you are worried about not knowing enough about politics, I don’t think it will be too difficult to follow at all.

The love story was so messy, but I was living for every single time our main characters were flung back into each others lives. Also, this book tackles the idea of how hard it can be to stick to your values for your job and let me tell you, I read this at the RIGHT TIME. It’s so hard working in a career that feels like it forces you to compromise your values a bit (I’ve had a WEEK at work, can you tell?).

See You Next Tuesday reminded me why I enjoy Kate Stayman-London’s writing.

Doing another throwback to a previous year! These were my top eight reads of 2021 💛

It’s crazy to think that I read these five years ago because so many of them still live in my head rent free.

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend—I know I am not looking forward to being back at work tomorrow! by @novelisticpages

We’re going to get a little deep here for a second. I recently finished this beautiful book, but it took me a long time to get through it because of some personal circumstances.

If you didn’t know, September is Suicide Prevention Month. A few months ago, I lost a family member to suicide.

The stigma of mental health slowly gets better every year, but it’s not enough. We need to continue to spread the word and encourage our friends, family, and peers to speak out when they are hurting.

I have struggled with severe depression and anxiety for years and from experience, someone reaching out makes a major difference.

This book is one of many that have made a difference in my life. It’s important to read books with mental health representation, even if you don’t struggle yourself. Learn the signs. Learn how people with depression may feel internally. You never know when you’ll need the information.

And if you are hurting yourself? I’m here to talk to anyone who needs it 💙 by @novelisticpages

✨Sapphic romance
💜 Theater nerds
✨ Former HS rivals
💜 Alternate realities

Can you believe I have another five star read this soon??? Bridget Morrissey is becoming a must-read for me!

This book made me feel all the feels!! There was so much depth to story, and I related to the feelings of wondering if the choices we make set us on the right path.

I read this as an eARC, but I’m not kidding when I say that I immediately ordered the physical copy as soon as I finished. I’m also writing a fleshed out review on my blog 💜

I will be shouting from the rooftops!! EVERYONE needs to read this!! by @novelisticpages

Happy Book Lovers Day 💖

I’ve been a reader for as long as I can remember. I loved books so much growing up that I studied English in college (twice). In honor of everyone’s love for reading, here are some of my all time favorite books!

Not pictured because I am forcing others to read them:
- The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams
- Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zeng by Kylie Lee Baker
- Love Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood
- The Roommate Risk by Talia Hibbert
