Forty-one. Northern California. A birthday that felt less like a party and more like a signpost.

This past year was bizarre and beautiful. It asked more of me than I expected, and gave more back than I can explain. Three lessons, a statement, and a thought:

1/ We’re more alike than we’re different.
2/ We’re more irrelevant than we’re significant.
3/ We’re more beautiful than we’ve been led to believe.

The system isn’t designed for us to be present, content, or satisfied. It’s designed to keep us reaching, scrolling, consuming. But we can design our own systems, and we should. Here’s the paradox: inner peace and joy are both the hardest and the easiest things to find. They don’t come from chasing more. They come from the willingness to say “no” more often than “yes.”
