San Francisco-based producer and selector Clearcast has quickly established themselves as one of the West Coast’s most exciting rising talents in UK bass and breakbeat culture. Fresh off opening for Fred Again in San Francisco, the artist has shared stages with Skrillex, Overmono, Ben UFO, The Blessed Madonna, A.G. Cook, Sammy Virji, Mall Grab, Interplanetary Criminal, 100 Gecs, DJ Seinfeld, Sega Bodega, and Chloe Robinson.

Leaning heavily into NUKG and tenebrous UK bass, Clearcast’s sound sits at the intersection of breakbeat bangers and introspective euphoria, with dreamy soundscapes and bright melodies pulled from internet electronica and experimental dance music, drawing from both underground warehouse culture and forward-thinking production aesthetics. Their live sets pull from a growing discography of smartly-arranged originals and SoundCloud edits, defined by glistening textures, ricocheting vocal melodies, and an instinct for balancing raw energy with emotional depth.

Releases have garnered support from Disclosure, G Jones, Salute, Conducta, and Camoufly, with tracks landing on UK labels Locked On, fourbyfour, and Duckland, as well as Tabula Rasa Records. “Heroine” with WTRGRL received airplay on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC Radio 6 show and coverage in Wonderland Magazine, while “Crash and Fall” with Psykh featured on Tabula Rasa’s compilation tape “Here and Now.” taken in Wellington, New Zealand by @noyer.nz

After a huge run of shows over summer, Caru & Brandn Shiraz bring their much-hyped live show back to the mighty Te Whanganui-a-Tara, playing at Moon Bar for one night only!

This night will be curated by Garage Sale, one of the capital’s longest running garage nights, who have chosen a range of the finest DJs in town to keep the vibes flowing. Opening things up we have Noyer and Young Gho$t the masterminds of Garage Sale, who will be easing things in with some selections across UKG, funky and grimey beats accompanied by Ghost’s bars.

Warming up for the headliner we have Clova, a rising star and local legend who recently released her debut album ‘Spiral’ to widespread applause. For Garage Sale she will hone in some of her favourite tracks, new and old, delivering her unique take on the sound.

Finally on closing duties we have none other than Ultraviolet, making his Garage Sale debut. A seasoned veteran with releases on Big Fresh, Echo Train and Club Unique, UV is one of the country’s best kept musical secrets, and we can’t wait to see what he pulls out the bag for this set.

Ghost Media Presents: GLM (1985/Flexout/Incurzion)
+ Support from Texture, Noyer, Whaea G & Ohimesama Breaks

We’ve invited GLM over to lay down his signature flavour of UK bass in Aotearoa for the first time!

Since his first release in 2023, GLM has curated a sound that incorporates elements of dnb, garage, dubstep, grime, and jungle, releasing music on respected independent labels including Incurzion Audio, Helix, Kojiki, Sub:stance Recordings, and 1985 Music. GLM’s cutting edge sonics have received radio support on networks like BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM, and Rinse FM, and he has performed widely across club circuits in the UK. A true don on the tools, we’re excited to welcome him as he showcases his production sound at Valhalla.

On support, we have an all-star lineup including TEXTURE, joining us from Ōtautahi for the first time since 2021.

We’ve been looking for an excuse to bring Texture up for a while, and this felt like a perfect opportunity. A purveyor of a unique sound that elicits an emotional response, fusing elements of bass, breakbeat, jungle and techno, Texture is high quality and well-seasoned, having opened for some serious artists including Addison Groove, Machinedrum, Ben UFO and Alix Perez. We can’t wait to host her for the first time this February!

From the local sphere, we’ve pulled out the big guns.

On opening duties we have NOYER, a man we can always trust to get the floor rocking. One half of Garage Sale, Noyer has been a staple of the capital’s underground dance music scene for the whole of the 2020s.

To close out the night in style, we’ve got a blockbuster back to back of two of the capital’s finest jungle selectors - WHAEA G & OHIMESAMA BREAKS. If either of those names are familiar to you, you’ll have some idea of the levels that are about to be effected.

As is standard, we’ve got BANSHEE SOUNDSYSTEM on ear and chest rattling duties. Come on!

Finally, we just want to mention that this event is a fundraiser for our Valhalla stage at Cuba Dupa. So buy a ticket and help support us for the biggest free party of the year!

TAMAR is a Te Whanganui-a-Tara based DJ, producer and vocalist. After two years of honing her craft, TAMAR has quickly emerged as a standout force in Wellington’s UKG DJ scene.

Alongside Pōneke’s Garage Sale Alumni, she has supported renowned artists such as Bakey, Breaka, Neffa T, Main Phase, Sully, Papa Nugs, Jeremy Sylvester, DJ Cosworth and Silva Bumpa.

Tamar and myself have played some sick b2b sets in the past and she has thrown down some huge sets for our Garage Sale shows, it’s only right we have her on for a guest mix!
