NP-02 / DESIGN BREAKDOWN NP51 STUDIO designed a cool barefoot shoe. Rather than designing around the limitations of traditional footwear manufacturing, the NP-02 was built around the possibilities of additive manufacturing. Using a ZERO DROP with WIDE TOEBOX footwear last as the inside of the model, we sculpted the outer surfaces to have an ultra minimal aesthetic design. From the first sketches to the final 3D model, every detail was thought out to add weight to the final story. Soon this shoe will be available for everyone! we wanted to show a cool feature ahout the NP-02 (and probably every shoe we launch in the future), and that is it’s own isotype. with this one we wanted to be literal with the 2, but leave the 0 as an implicit number living in the surroundings of the overall shape. everything starts from a simple circle… then, two stripes cut the circle vertically… those geometries get boolean intersected… and the black geometries (later empty spaces) get rounded… the dotted line cuts the original circle and we are left with the main shape! we make them a bit appart… and round the edges at the end 📍 by @np51studio

incredibly lightweight!!! only 200 grams per shoe 🪶 the first time NP-02 was unboxed 😮‍💨 the vision of making each shoe “different” 🤤 with the NP on the right shoe and the 51 on the left one actually experimenting with displacement mapping added some halftone microtexture! (might use it again, loved it) on foot picsss 🤩🤩🤩 happy ending 😌 by @np51studio
