Couldn’t make it to our general interest meeting? That’s ok! Here’s everything you need to know about SMACC Dance Crew‼️

We are a diverse dance crew at SUNY New Paltz! We perform a variety of styles of dance, primarily high energy hip-hop and jazz funk style choreography! We learn choreography covers and as well as our own original choreography💃

We perform at various events throughout the year including invitationals from other clubs on campus, showcases like @npdanceassociation Dance Underground, and last semester we opened for SpringFest💥 (as seen on this slide!)

We practice 3 times a week, Mondays and Wednesday from 9:15-10:15pm, and Thursdays 5-7pm! This time is for us to learn, teach, and practice new choreography for upcoming performances🗓️

(If you are interested in joining the team but some of these times don’t work for you don’t let that stop you from auditioning, we can always work something out!)

We strive to create a space for absolutely ANYONE to share their love for dance! No experience is needed to be apart of SMACC, just a passion to share with the group! The most important thing is that we are here to have fun❣️

Make sure to follow us to stay updated on things like teaching days, auditions, as well as future open classes and performances 📣 by @np_smacc

AUDITION TIME 📣

We will be having our Teaching Day on Wednesday 9/16 at 9:15PM in the AWC Dance Studio! This is merely meant for learning the choreography for auditions, it does NOT mean you are committed to auditioning though you are highly encouraged!

Auditions will take place the next day, Thursday 9/17, at 5:30PM in the SUB Dance Studio 417! This is super low stress, you will not be put on the spot! We will run the choreography as a group for the e-board to watch, grab your contact information, and then you are free to go!

Don’t forget to wear sneakers, comfortable clothes, and bring water‼️

If for any reason you can’t attend we will be accepting video audition submissions until Sunday 9/20 at 11:59PM! Please contact us and we will send you a video of the choreography!

We hope to see you there🌟
