We’re proud to join @ESDC.GC and communities across the country in recognizing National Seniors Day and celebrating the many ways older adults continue to enrich our communities.

At Neilson Park Creative Centre, we're fortunate to have generations of older adults who continue to shape our community through their creativity, knowledge, friendship and enthusiasm.

One of the places we see that community come alive is Sing Etobicoke! Our free weekly group singing series, where people come together not because they have to be great singers, but simply to experience the joy of singing with others.

Last season brought plenty of music, conversation and new connections along with special moments like welcoming the MenAloud Chorus to sing with us.

And we're getting ready to do it all again! 🎶

Sing Etobicoke returns October 20, with free weekly sessions running through March 2027. Join us for one session, a few, or the whole series. No singing experience is needed, just come as you are!

On National Seniors Day, we're celebrating the older adults who make NPCC the creative, welcoming and connected community it is today. Happy National Seniors Day! 💛

While FUSION is known for celebrating clay and glass, the Henry Goodman Exhibition for Emerging Artists has also been a wonderful opportunity to feature talented visual artists working in other mediums, joining the show especially for its final stop at Neilson Park Creative Centre. We’re proud to spotlight: Adam Wiebe, Narmin Kassam, Kaeli MacDonald, and Yasaman Mehrsa.

Their work adds a beautiful dimension to this exhibition, expanding the conversation beyond ceramics and celebrating creativity in all its forms.

⏰ The last day to catch the show in it’s FINAL location is October 7 at Neilson Park Creative Centre in Etobicoke. Don’t miss your chance to see it in person!

In With One Voice, gathering is an act of belonging. Women come together while remaining distinct, carrying their own histories, identities, and lived experiences into a shared space. Handmade and decorative papers from different parts of the world are torn, layered, and reassembled, allowing individual fragments to become part of something larger without losing their distinction. With One Voice #12 and #13 explore this relationship between individuality and collective presence. Through proximity, gesture, pattern, and layered surface, gathering becomes a space where difference remains visible, relationships take form, and belonging becomes possible.

This body of work references a repetitive practice of locating oneself in time and space - geographically rooting into a familiar landscape and affirming a sense of identity through repeated action. Gathering often references the bringing together of a group of people or objects. In this work, I am exploring how we gather parts of self through practices that can hold multiple parts, stories and histories. Walking the same path over and over again, painting repeatedly - shapes, lines, and colours - until what results has become more than the sum of our parts.

Threads and fibres dress our walls! 🧶🧶

The Etobicoke Rugcrafters present "The Hook an I", an art exhibition that brings forth beautiful tapestries of creative rug hooking works! Intricate patterns, skillfully-made animal pieces, and more! 🖼️

All are also welcome to come to the annual gathering on Tuesday, Oct. 6th, from 10 am to 3 pm! Admission is $10, where there will be vendors, prizes, refreshment, speaker, silent auction and inspiration! 🎉

I had a blast at last week's Sippin' Socials workshop at @npccarts where participants were guided through creating their own mixed media floral artwork. Everyone had fun exploring new materials and stepping out of their comfort zone, playing and enjoying the process.

Rex Ray made playful, sophisticated work in painted paper collage. His mid-century design aesthetic is revered among artists & designers!
First – inspired by his deliciously unfettered daily practice collages – we’ll get our creativity flowing making fun collage riffs. After lunch, we’ll get (slightly) more considered, working on a more involved piece.

Silver Screamers follows a spirited group of older adults who step far outside their comfort zones to make their very own horror film. What follows is a funny, heartwarming look at low-budget filmmaking, friendship, creativity and the courage to try something completely new.

Yesterday I started my new watercolor painting course for @humbervalleyartclub at Nelson Park Creative Center, Toronto.
We had a group of talented artists, most of them were attending my courses before, and some new students came. Nice atmosphere, connection and amazing results!
My new course is dedicated to our beautiful country Canada, with it's unique history, culture and beautiful nature.
