Two clubs. One network. The beginning.

Today NPSA is naming its first founding chapters: the Harvard Undergraduate Psychedelics Club and the UVM Psychedelic Science Club.

Campus psychedelic clubs have been building this work in isolation for years, without a shared playbook or a way to connect with each other. Every 2–3 years, new student leadership takes over and starts from scratch. NPSA exists to close that gap.

Founding chapter status means these two clubs are the first to formally join the network, helping shape the
standards and structure every future chapter will build on.

This is the Class of 2027. Swipe through to meet them.

No club at your school yet? Reach out. We'll help you start one.

Psychedel*c studies have already entered higher education, bringing serious academic attention to research, psychology, spirituality, ethics, history, and emerging models of care.

But an important question remains:

What happens when psychedeli*c higher education can move beyond studying practice and include meaningful practical formation itself?

This Thursday, join @psychedeliamericas Founder and investigative journalist Jack Gorsline (@jack.gorsline), Dr. Jim Garrison, Founder and President of Ubiquity University (@ubiquity_university), and Dr. Paul Ryder, Founding Minister of the Congregation for Sacred Practices (@congregationforsacredpractices), for a live conversation about an emerging model of psychedel*c higher education that joins graduate-level scholarship with religious-use-protected spiritual formation, practicum, mentorship, and ethics.

LIVE this Thursday, October 8th at 7:00 PM EDT / 4:00 PM PDT via @psychedelicamericas and @psychedelicstoday on LinkedIn, Youtube, Substack, and more! taken in Worldwide by @npsa_official

Just finished Acid Dreams and… holy shit!

The early history of LSD is WAY stranger than I realized.

The CIA secretly dosed unsuspecting people with LSD, including experiments where prostitutes were reportedly paid to slip it into drinks while government operatives watched from behind one-way mirrors to see what happened.

And somehow that’s not even the craziest part.

The same substance the government was secretly experimenting with would soon become a defining symbol of the counterculture, while scientists and psychiatrists were exploring whether psychedelics could actually help people.

Government experiments. Mind control. Counterculture. Science. Prohibition.

The history of psychedelics is messy as hell, and Acid Dreams is a fascinating trip through all of it. 🌀

Every 2-3 years, a psychedelic studies club loses its entire institutional memory.
New leaders. No playbook. No connection to the club doing the same work three states over.
This is the problem we’re solving.

How does psilocybin actually rewire the brain? A Cornell lab has spent the last few years mapping it out, down to which neural circuits shift and why. The science keeps getting more precise. The infrastructure supporting the students studying it should keep pace. by @npsa_official

Still unfolding. Building something for campus psychedelic studies clubs that should’ve existed a long time ago. More soon. #psychedelicstudies #psychedelicscience #campusclubs #studentorg by @npsa_official

Roughly 1 in 8 people worldwide live with a mental health condition, according to the WHO.
The research pointing to psychedelic-assisted therapy as part of the answer keeps accelerating.
So should the infrastructure supporting the students studying it. by @npsa_official
