my one and only bucket list item while I was here, swim at the world famous Bondi Icebergs pool. Swimmers from all over the world know the waves wash into this saltwater open water swim, water temp 62 degrees. Once in a lifetime workout. (Literally I’ll never do this again lol) ✨✨✨🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️ taken in Bondi, New South Wales, Australia by @nreppa

On June 5, 2021 the Giants became the first team in MLB to wear pride uniforms on the field. Zero players opted out. They understood what it means to put on the uniform, and support the community and fans of San Francisco - a city that is built entirely upon the ideals of tolerance and inclusivity.

This year, five pitchers chose to take a show of support for fans and community and make it about them. This was never about expressing their religious freedom, or they would do this every day of the year. It was a conscious choice to make members of the LGBTQIA+ community feel unwelcome, or alienated - inside the stadium supposedly celebrating them. 10 couples renewed their vows at @oraclepark before the game, only to be met with hate and intolerance by players on the very team they came to support.

It’s in disgustingly bad faith, and you don’t deserve the fans of the city you wear the jersey for. The @sfgiants need to answer for this, and even you too @busterposey. Thousands of kids look up to you as one of their heroes. You’ll go into the hall of fame next year. Represent your fans, your community, your city, and the uniform you wore for the entirety of your career. I can’t support the giants if they choose to slide into the same christofascist technocracy as the rest of country, and won’t do so.

To my friends in our SF (and everywhere) community, I’m so very sorry our team reminded us all why we still need Pride. You’re seen and loved.

To the members of this team who disgraced them, do better. Also literally. If you’re going to be assholes, don’t also have the worst bullpen ERA in the league. (That’s a joke. Mostly).

Sincerely,
Disgusted fans everywhere. by @nreppa
