THIS RIGHT HERE IS REINING

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Every generation leaves its mark on reining.

Some change the way we compete. Some build the organizations and opportunities that move the sport forward. Some leave a legacy that continues long after they step out of the show pen.

Sliders’ Night Out presented by Toyon Ranch is where we come together to honor them.

On December 2 join the Reining Horse Foundation and NRHA as we celebrate the newest members of the NRHA Hall of Fame and recipients of the Dale Wilkinson Lifetime Achievement Award. These are the people and horses whose contributions have helped shape reining.

Over two decades later, Wimpys Little Step's influence on reining speaks for itself.

Wimpys Little Step is by Nu Chex To Cash and out of Leolita Step. He was bred by Hilldale Farm and is owned by Silver Spurs Equine.

$140,000. Twelve NRHA members and families…with more anticipated. Relief when it was needed most.

The Dale Wilkinson Memorial Crisis Fund has already provided a record $140,000 in assistance to members facing accidents, illness and natural disasters, including several families impacted by January’s catastrophic ice storm in Oklahoma and Texas.
Behind every grant are donors who choose to care for the reining community.

Because of you, help can be there when life takes an unexpected turn.

Kelly Zweifel had plenty to celebrate here.
That 232 aboard Master Snapper (Snapper Cal Bar x Colonel Mistress) at the 2006 NRHA Derby made her the first woman to win the L4 Open. The pair also became the first to sweep the Open, Intermediate Open and Limited Open divisions at one Derby.
Owned by Impresa Agricola Cuoghi and bred by M. Fausto and A. Adani, Master Snapper made some history of his own as the first horse bred, born, raised, and trained in Europe to win the NRHA Open Derby.
Twenty years later, we still love watching her take it all in.
This right here is reining.

For the Warren family, the past year brought some of their highest highs and hardest lows.

While Gunna Be Custom reached NRHA Million Dollar Dam status, Devin and Jolene Warren were facing something much bigger outside the show pen as their son, Garrett, battled cancer.

“Triumph and Tragedy” tells their story and the role the reining community played through it all.

Read it in the September issue of the NRHA Reiner.

Thirteen years apart. A mother and son. And Casey Deary there for both.

In 2012, Americasnextgunmodel carried Deary to an NRHA Futurity championship. In 2025, her son Belissimo gave them another chapter.

As we celebrate 60 years of the NRHA Futurity, these are the connections that make its history so special. Horses we’ll never forget, riders who bring out their best and the chance to watch the next generation write its own story.
