Sharing the details of the finished mural I created for @pleasant.peninsula a festival highlighting 21 species that are Threatened or Endangered in Michigan. Now that the festival is here, I’m excited to finally show the piece.
What made this festival so special was its structure — artists were paired with educators who deeply understand the species we were painting. I collaborated with David Lowry, who shared so much with me about the monkey flower, a rare plant native to Michigan.
Out of the six species I was introduced to, I chose to highlight two — the yellow and purple monkey flowers. These species can grow in a range of conditions, but I focused on their connection to wetland habitats — placing them near water in the mural as a reflection of the fragile ecosystems they depend on.
The mirrored flowers became a symbol of what’s at risk of being washed away… but also of hope, care, and the possibility of renewal when we protect & nurture what matters.
Another aspect of this festival was that artists could choose to be paired with an apprentice. I worked with the great @sydkuip who had never painted a mural before. I walked her through my process from start to finish and showed her the different tools I use along the way — including how to operate the lift. She picked things up quickly and jumped right in.She even painted her own mini mural and totally crushed it. I’m so proud of her.
Huge thanks to the epic @son.visual and the Pleasant team for creating such a thoughtful and impactful experience. The collaboration with educators — and the opportunity to mentor another artist — made this one of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on.
💛

This was a fun wall we painted for our client The Four Seasons Resort in West Palm Beach, Florida. We were given an image to execute for them on a column outside their entrance to bring color and a new energy to their beautiful property. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The texture of the wall was stucco so we had to be careful to keep our lines clean. Painting on textured surfaces can be challenging but that's part of the fun. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Detail shot of a project we just completed for the lovely @lindsayshair new space. She’s a magician with hair. Be sure to check her out. We love painting floral pieces. She wanted a design that was floral and inspired by “Miami’s tropical colors ❤️ if you’re interested in a floral piece to call your own for your space, contact us 🌹scroll to the end to see the two who built and installed the panel for us ❤️ taken in Miami, Florida by @nsalgarstudio

I’m incredibly intentional about the people I choose to collaborate with because every person leaves something of themselves in the work.

Over the last year, I’ve had the privilege of watching @va111erie transform, and that’s exactly why I chose her to be the muse for this piece.

This painting is being created for a group exhibition titled “Practice Dying”.To me, that means shedding versions of ourselves, releasing what no longer serves us, and seeing life from a new perspective. That kind of transformation is its own form of death and renewal.

@supremelips was just as important to this process. She’s one of my closest friends and a photographer whose work I deeply admire. Before the shoot, I developed the art direction and creative brief. Once we were in the studio, we built on that vision together, and the trust between the three of us gave the images room to evolve naturally. (Photos included in this reel are mine)

From the lighting and wardrobe to incorporating Chris’s sword into the imagery, every detail had a purpose.

Now comes the hardest part: choosing the image that will become the reference for the painting.

Practice Dying opens this October at @moreanartscenter alongside my dear friend @palehorse retrospective. I can’t wait to share more soon.

Today is my brother’s Louis’s birthday.

To know him, photos never really did him justice. He was an experience. You had to be around him to understand it. He was magnetic, charismatic, hilarious, and completely unforgettable. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed harder in my life than I did with him. He was my best friend.

Instead of focusing on the day we lost him, I choose to celebrate the day he entered this world.

Grief is interesting & hard to explain . It comes in waves. Some days I can think about him and smile. Other days it completely breaks me & can be crippling. We were incredibly close—so much so that we used to call ourselves twins, even though we were four years apart. People would often tell us they wished they had the relationship we had.

It breaks my heart what happened to him and what he went through. And after all these years, there are moments when I find myself forgetting the sound of his voice or small details about him. That’s why videos like these mean so much. They bring me back to him.

We lost him in 2014, and every year since, his closest friends and family gather on his birthday to celebrate him. We’ll do the same tonight.

His loss forever changed me. It taught me to be unapologetically myself, to live with intention, to go after the things that matter without fear, to tell people I love them more often, and to never take a single moment for granted. It taught me that our time here is precious, and that the impact we have on others can outlive us in ways we may never fully understand.

I loved my brother deeply, and I always will.

To everyone who loved him, I hope this small glimpse of who he was brings a little joy to your day as we celebrate the incredible person he was. I love you all ❤️

Some behind the scenes from the mural we are currently working on for @national_core out in Fort Myers with @vic_the_viper . The weather’s been wild to navigate during this rainy season though we’ve been having the time of our lives here painting, problem solving, laughing, jamming to good tunes and watching the wall slowly come together day by day. Grateful. ❤️

“Entre Mareas” — between tides.

Water is renewal. Water is life. It holds memory, grief, release, transformation, and rebirth all at once. The ocean gives life, takes life, cleanses, consumes, and regenerates. The shadow crossing over one of Laura’s eyes was intentional to represent that emotional duality — she could be dissolving into the water or emerging from it.

The ocean holds both.

What makes this piece especially meaningful to me is the story behind it. When @lauritarogersthat and I first met, we realized we shared the experience of losing a sibling, and because of that I felt an immediate sense of connection to her. It’s one of the reasons I felt called to paint her as the subject of this piece.

Months later, we created the reference for this painting during a water shoot at Fort De Soto with the incredibly talented @supremelips , using mirrors to reflect light across the water and onto her . The shoot had taken place on her sister’s birthday, which gave the entire experience an even deeper sense of connection and meaning. A love letter to those who have loved & lost & are finding their way through.

Final photos from the 4th floor.

This project was for a private client in Wynwood and was brought to me through @acrylicize .

The direction was to create something that reflects Miami while also shaping how the space is felt by the people in it—giving them a sense of connection to the city they’re in, even while working inside, and creating an environment that feels more human, grounded, and shared.

I built that through the figures, botanicals, and color, and carried it across the floor so the experience stays connected and consistent from one area to the next.

Back soon for the 5th floor ✨. Grateful to my team that helped me bring this to life through multiple long night shifts.

The 4th floor — where the main lobby sits inside a private corporate headquarters in Wynwood, brought to me through @acrylicize

This is where people arrive, so the intention was to hold space for community — not just visually, but in feeling. Miami is layered with cultures, histories, and movement, and I wanted that to come through in a way that feels connected.

Local flora and fauna are woven in as anchors to place, while the figures and gestures reflect presence — how we exist alongside one another.

The work carries through different areas of the floor, tying the space together.

We’ll be back soon to complete the 5th floor.

Grateful for my team that helped bring this to life over many hours of night shifts & fun. @la.yera @vic_the_viper @liightones. Incredible vinyl artwork installation of my designs on the elevators by @bailoutmediaco

It’s been a year since this shoot 🌹⛓️❤️

Last year I did a photoshoot with the best group of creatives. The images from this shoot became the reference for my mural at the Salvador Dalí Museum.

I led the art direction, styling, and overall visual direction—working with what I had in my studio and shaping it into something intentional. Collaborating with Regina, I came in with a plan though we continued to developed ideas in real time, adjusting and refining as we went. That back-and-forth, building something as it’s unfolding, is a process I really enjoy.

It also gives me space to pull from parts of my background—fashion, styling, set design etc —and apply that perspective with intention. Grateful & looking forward to more of this in the near future. ❤️

A closer look at part of a larger installation I completed earlier this year inside a private client’s corporate headquarters in Wynwood, in collaboration with @acrylicize Fragments, reflections, structure meeting fluidity.

The work moves through the space instead of sitting on it. Forms break, shift, and reconnect so nothing feels fixed.

Color is doing the heavy lifting — shifting the atmosphere with the light and changing how the space is experienced throughout the day.

I carried the work onto the elevators so the experience starts before you even step onto the floor. Installed by @bailoutmediaco.

Three months working across multiple floors. Mostly nights.

Grateful for the team that helped me bring this to life @la.yera @vic_the_viper @liightones

More on the next floor soon.

“The Night Shift Crew”

One of the biggest projects of my career wrapped this February — a large-scale mural installation for a private corporate headquarters, brought to me through the incredible team at @acrylicize . This monster of a project took three months to complete, with many painting shifts starting around 5pm and running until 4 or 5 in the morning.

Before sharing more about the work itself, I wanted to highlight the team that helped bring it to life.

@vic_the_viper brings experience, adaptability, and stamina, and is always eager to learn. @la.yera is an incredible painter with a sharp eye for detail, and someone who is both reliable and independent. @liightones is a problem solver and a painter I’ve had the privilege of watching grow and evolve over the years.

I might be partial, but I truly have the best team. When the energy is right, you push each other, grow, learn from each other, and feed off that momentum.

More on the project soon.❤️ #MuralArtist
