They’re here! And it’s the last week in Cleveland!
I’m thrilled to announce that the catalog for Meaning Within the Letters: A Framework for Connection has officially been published and is now available for purchase!
And if you haven’t yet seen Meaning Within the Letters at the Mandel JCC, this is your last chance. The exhibition leaves October 10th and continues its travels to Columbus, Ohio, and then Boca Raton, Florida.
The catalog brings together all 22 works from the exhibition, along with my writing and interpretation. It is a way to continue exploring the letters long after leaving the gallery.

Who knows how to change a tire??

Our dad made each of us learn before we could get our driver’s license. So after dropping off Charna’s wedding invitations at Cleveland’s main post office, I came out to a flat tire and thought, This is my moment. Dad would be so proud!

If only I could move the lug nuts!

Luckily, my new BFF Gerard spotted me literally jumping on the wrench and came to my rescue. Together we figured out the new technology in changing tires today-WHO KNEW the spare tire actually blows up to size?!

By the time JK arrived to save the day...We were finishing up.

When I was about seven or eight, my Aunt Naomi sent our gaggle of girls Ms. Magazine.

I would watch my mom thumb through each issue, occasionally stopping to read something before tossing it in the trash. When she wasn't looking, I rescued it and hid it under my mattress until I could read it at night. I'm not sure I understood everything but I certainly tried.

Thank you Auntie N for opening my eyes at such a young age. And thank you, Gloria Steinen, for your tireless work and for shaping generations of women and men, rest in peace. by @nschwartzkatz

Clevelanders- this is well worth the short drive from the CLE!

Last week I popped down to Kent State University to see the incredible work of Aimee Lee. Recently featured in the New York Times and newest recipient of the Cleveland Arts Prize. The beauty of her work and dedication to this traditional technique is undeniable. I wanted to touch and examine everything... Don't worry, I know better!

Congrats to Aimee, my friend Museum Director Sarah Liska Spinner and Curator Sara Hume, PhD on this wonderful exhibition!

Thirty years!

According to Rent, there are 525,600 minutes in a year. By that measure, today we have been married for 262,800 hours or 10,950 days!

But how do you measure a year—let alone thirty?

In daylights and sunsets.
In rainy nights spent watching storms pass through.
In midnights and cups of coffee, especially the ones he brings me every morning.
In inches and miles, yes, the many miles we’ve traveled and all the places we’ve discovered together.
In laughter and strife—and yes, there has been plenty of both.

Thirty years of love and laughter, tears, support, arguments, agreements, disappointments and joy. Thirty years of ordinary moments that became a life together...

How do you measure thirty years?

In love. Definitely in love
