VOTE for the Trails! We’ve asked the candidates about how they would support mountain bike trails in the DNV. The answers may support you in choosing who to vote for in the upcoming municipal election. Link in bio.

Make sure you get out to vote! As election day is on October 17 and is the same day as Hardline, plan ahead to allow time to get to the polls that day, or find an advanced voting day: October 7, 10, or 12.

The NSMBA is run by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by you, our members at our Annual General Meeting on November 26th. Several board seats will be open up for 2027.

He'll be speaking about trail building on the north shore and how events like Hardline are inspired by the north shore terrain, as well as the impacts of an event like Hardline on the north shore trail community. Our north shore trails are built on the traditional and unceded lands of the Coast Salish peoples, including the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. The NSMBA strives to steward the network in a way that shows our respect both for the land and for the First Nation people who have been the stewards of these lands since time immemorial.

September 30, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as well as Orange Shirt Day, is a day to pause and learn, reflect, and remember the Residential schools and their devastating impacts.

A huge WELCOME to Joe Woywitka, who is back at the NSMBA as our new Trail Manager! Joe brings a wealth of skills, experience, and trail building expertise:

“Growing up riding the North Shore in the early 2000’s I gained an appreciation for our trail network at an early age. I started volunteering with the association over 10 years ago and progressed into working for the trail crew for several years. After a short hiatus, I’m excited to be returning as the Trail Manager and continuing to build and improve our local trails. Whether that’s restoring old school classics or breathing life into new lines, I look forward to giving back to all levels of our riding community and staying true to the roots of mountain biking on the North Shore.”

Joe is no stranger to the north shore mountain bike community. We are feeling very lucky to have him back!
