This is how it feels to visit my homeland, which has been courageously fighting through the fifth year of Russia’s full-scale war.

I left Kyiv in July 2017 and moved to the United States, and for 9 years I’ve never returned.

When Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022, we truly thought we might never see our homeland again.

But against all odds, Ukraine endures. Because of the extraordinary courage of those who defend it, our country is still standing.

Even the sound of air raid sirens and the reality of daily attacks could never keep Ukrainians away from our homeland.

Ukraine is, and always will be, my home. taken in Kyiv, Ukraine by @nsolyeva

There’s something beautiful about reaching an age where you’ve lived enough life to know what you like, what you want, and how to create it for yourself.

It’s not about having fewer problems.
It’s about trusting yourself more.

Because you’ve been through hard seasons before. You’ve figured things out. You’ve rebuilt, adjusted, changed direction, and kept going.

I’ll make it work. I always have. by @nsolyeva

Yes, we know you’re craving it too… 👀

Homemade pierogies. A warm bowl of borscht. Stuffed cabbage that tastes like someone’s grandma made it. 🥟❤️

And btw, that’s not even a joke — some items on the menu are actually made by a real Ukrainian grandma using authentic family recipes. 🇺🇦

So if you’ve been craving real Eastern European comfort food, consider this your sign.
