A forgotten legend, the Bugatti EB110.💙
-
With a topspeed of 351km/h the EB110 used to rule the world in the '90s as the fastest car in the world. Thanks to a quadturbo V12 it produced over 600hp, making it possible to go from 0-100km/h in just 3.26sec. Two more world records were beaten with this beast, making it one of the most iconic cars ever made.

"The Ford that beat Ferrari."🏆🇺🇲
-
The car that did the impossible, beating Ferrari at the legendary Le Mans 24h race. And if once wasn't enough, the Ford GT40 managed to win it an incredible 4 times in a row! The lightweight American racecar was firstly introduced in 1963 at Le Mans, changes were needed tho, since the cars were way too unstable and unreliable. So, Ford recruited the perfect man for this job, Caroll Shelby, who put a 7L V8, made sure of development in aerodynamics which provided Ford to finally be competitive in the iconic racing series.

This particular GT40 began its journey in Belgium, the lightweight racing car having been delivered to Jean Blaton ('Beurlys') from Brussels. The car was fitted with a race spec engine, an improved clutch and stiffer suspension compared to the road car.
This 1968 GT40 was one of the later versions of the Le Mans icon, which means it was a lot lighter, more powerful and automatically faster than its predecessors. The car began its racing history at the 1000km of Monza, next was the 1000km of Spa-Francorchamps, at both occasions the car qualified well but the race ended with retirement twice. Then they went big, participating in the 1968 Le Mans race, but sadly it didn't go that well with co-driver Willy Mairesse crashing out at high speed due to wet weather conditions. A few years later, the numbered 8 GT40 underwent a massive restauration with many parts changed in order to make it ready again for racing. And so, since 2002 the car was back in the running and participated many historic races; such as the "Le Mans Classic", "Goodwood Revival", several "Tour auto" events and so on...🏁

Personally I think (F1 Cars excluded) this might be the most legendary race car ever made. It really is a car impossible to dislike with a timeless design and endless history. But the real question is, what do you think about this car? And is it really the most iconic race car ever?

The perfect car to take for a spin on a fuzzy morning, the beautiful Mercedes 300SL.🏁
-
Possibly the most iconic car of all time, the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing. Also known as the first supercar ever made, with its mindblowing performance (in the 50's).
The 300SL (Super-Leicht) was basically a racecar, which Mercedes converted into a road car. However there was a problem with its ultra light spaceframe-chassis, the side frame came way too high which ment normal doors wouldn't fit the car. That's why the geniuses from Stuttgart went for Gullwing doors💡, which definetly left a mark in the car industry. With brands like Pagani and Koenigsegg making their own versions of the historical doors.
The 300SL was the base for many following generations of supercars and proved that it really is possible to make racecars for the road.
-
I think the 300SL is definetly up there as one of the most important and legendary cars to have ever been made. But the Ferrari F40 beats it by a fraction for me.
But what about you? What do you think about the 300SL, and is it really the most iconic car of them all?
