Here is the latest release from the Kawasaki project I worked on with @ozone.films and @venture_creations. This was done in @blender.official and rendered using cycles. Had to break out a clay render for this as well. It’s cool to see how much life texturing brings to a scene.

One of my favorite stages of the process is the intial look development stage. These were some fun and quick spec style frames that I put together using @beyerdynamic over the ear headphones. This was just a couple hours spent exploring different angles and lighting setups to showcase the product as well as some quick motion graphic treatments.

Back in early 2025 I got to work on some full CGI (minus the hand) product stills that were used to showcase the standout features for this vacuum. This was a fun challenge to really create a cohesive style and feel while making the product stand out.

Tools Used: @maxon.cinema.4d + Redshift - After Effects - Photoshop

Used some @greyscalegorilla models and textures as well to help build out the scene

A quick breakdown of the particle sim that I built inside of Houdini.

Rendered it with Karma XPU.

Definitely still a ton to learn in Houdini, but thought I’d share the progress so far.

Which do you prefer, color or black and white?

This was my first dive into Solaris and as well as using Karma XPU. It’s a pretty simple lighting setup using a couple of area lights, and a classic creative space HDRI from @greyscalegorilla .

A quick test exploring one of the lens options within the Lens Sim Addon for @blender.official . Definitely some limitations with using the addon, but the details that it does bring in could definitely be worth it on some projects. It is quite accurate to the way the bokeh is shaped, and the texture you can see within all of the bokeh elements. Has anyone else tried this addon? If so, what was your experience trying it out on a production project?

This was such a fun environment to put together to showcase some urban textures from @poliigonofficial. Since I was using @blender.official it felt right to build out an Amsterdam inspired scene. A few seconds of animation can be 100+ hours of work behind the scenes…

Here’s how:

Whether building an expansive environment from scratch with an attention to detail that rivals mother nature, texturing & designing various models with carefully curated art direction, or accurately simulating wind, gravity and high g-forces on a parachute that required custom rigging and remodeling, one simple visual could involve countless hours of R&D from both specialists and generalists in multiple disciplines.

One goal for the year was to dive into Houdini and start learning the software. While I have a long way to go this was the first test I did within @sidefxhoudini and am excited to continue to learn more and more. I exported this sim as an alembic and brought it into blender and rendered the sequences using cycles.
