#MustBeNice 🤔

Isn't It great when people "try" and discredit your hard work.

All because they don't see their own potential & all that life has to offer.....
for everyone, not just for "everyone else".

Its almost as if they are seeing life though a completely different set of lenses.

When people say must be nice, it's never spoken with the intent of lifting you up.

 Often, it extends from jealousy…
And whether intentional or not, that phrase may bring you down to the responder's emotional level.

It can be hurtful when someone that you want to share your success with makes you feel bad for that success.

In the car community we should be out here uplifting each other up !

In all honesty this saying now & will always remind me of
@mikea_alexander &
@mindofmacias
After one summer of hearing them separately at different shows both say it back and forth over the course of a one show season many years back it will forever be locked in my head 😆

72 INCHES. ONE-PIECE OR TWO-PIECE? 👀

This is one of those things I don't think enough people think about when doing an engine/transmission swap.

Our 1961 Lincoln Continental is running a Gen-4 Coyote with a Mustang 10R80 10-speed.

The interesting part isn't simply comparing transmission case lengths.

The original Lincoln driveline used a slip-style connection that placed the front U-joint farther back. The 10R80 uses a fixed bolt-on output flange.

When you compare where the actual driveshaft connection/U-joint ends up, we're dealing with roughly a 10-inch difference in this installation.

That leaves us with approximately a 72-inch driveshaft span.

At that length, driveshaft diameter, material, RPM, operating angles and critical speed all start becoming important.

My driveshaft shop recommended going TWO-PIECE rather than trying to make one extremely long one-piece shaft work at speed.

Easy enough...

Except this is a UNIBODY 1961 Lincoln. 😂

So now I'm fabricating a carrier-bearing crossmember into the structure, establishing the driveline geometry and rebuilding the tunnel/floor around the new two-piece shaft.

This is the stuff you don't see when somebody says:

“Just Coyote swap it.”

I've found other Coyote-swapped Lincolns and I've found 10R80 swaps, but I still haven't found another documented 1961 Continental running a Gen-4 Coyote, 10R80 and this two-piece driveline setup.

If somebody has done one, TAG THEM.

I'd actually like to see how they approached it.

I'd rather not be the first...

But here we are. 😆

Doing the damn thing.

In a world full of LS-swapped Lincolns, we're keeping this one FORD IN A FORD — with TEN gears.

👇 Fabricators/builders: would you run a 72" one-piece shaft, or go two-piece?

Getting this exhaust fitted from back to front has been a mission — cutting it open, reshaping it, and making it work with the Coyote, the tuned trumpets, and the modified floor.
This is the kind of work most people never see, but it’s what makes the build right.
So we’ll keep Guns N’ Roses cranked, keep the sparks flying, and keep this thing moving.
Nitrous in the blood, gasoline for a brain, and no reverse gear in the vision.
One cut, one weld, one step closer.

Sometimes you have to take two steps back to make one real step forward.

Working inside the Tiki Bird meant removing parts that were already installed just to reach the areas that needed attention. Then everything has to be checked, corrected, and installed all over again.

That is the part of building cars most people never see.

It is also where shortcuts happen. Someone says, “Nobody will ever know.”

But I will know.

I think about every nut, every bolt, every connection, and every decision made on these vehicles—especially when I am driving them or handing the keys to someone else.

Doing it right means being willing to do the work other people skip. Sometimes that means going backward before you can move forward.

Perfection takes time, but peace of mind is worth every extra step.

A ‘69 Ford Torino on steroids? This exclusive design for @ntkustomsdotcom @needfulthingzhotrodshop is absolutely insane! The wide body kit is on another level, and the @officialprowheels are the cherry on top. Listen to the roar of this Shelby Cobra Superjet beast.

I haven't done a regular photo post in a while, So here you go i'm fitting the full custom stainless exhaust on the ’61 Lincoln. This system was originally designed around an LS engine, but now that we’re installing the 5.0 Coyote & a 10r80 some modifications are going to be necessary.
We’ll start at the rear of the car, get the exhaust positioned correctly, and work our way forward toward the headers. Once everything is lined up, we’ll fabricate the connections and determine whether an H-pipe or X-pipe gives us the best fit, clearance, and performance, custom stainless tig welded exhaust does not for the faint of heart, it takes skill & knowledge.
That’s the reality of custom builds—you don’t force parts to fit. You modify and fabricate everything until it works together the right way.

Old-school style with a modern high-performance driving experience.

The HGM Electronics paddle-shift system gives this T-Bird complete control over its 6-speed transmission right from the steering wheel. Everything is beautifully machined from billet aluminum, and the quality matches the level of the build.

Paddle shifting is something you expect in a Ferrari or Porsche—not in a classic American hot rod. But that is exactly what separates a true high-end restomod or pro-touring build from the ordinary.

Classic appearance. Modern technology. Built to perform.

Devious Customs gas tank install is coming together. In the 61 Lincoln project

This was the fitment check to see how everything fit, after getting the tank in, bending up the straps, and getting everything positioned where it needed to be. Once the longer custom straps were on, the tank sat back properly and the filler neck lined up like it should,

I wasn’t sure if the original straps were going to work, so I ordered the longer ones just to be safe — and now the fit is fantastic.

Little details like this are what make the difference between just bolting parts on and actually building it right.
