Bird Quiz 1: What a day to reveal the answer! Wild Bird Day & Migratory Bird Day – 10th October

Question: Which Indian city has the highest Avian Diversity?

THE ANSWER IS… DELHI. 🐦

Yes. Delhi. India’s Capital City.

THE WINNER: Mr Dhaval Solanki. He wins a fabulous gift voucher for the NTPC Pakshi Awards.

Congratulations, Mr Solanki!

We thank everyone who participated. A special surprise awaits those who got the answers right! Stay tuned!

Something every Indian must be proud of, and every Delhiite must cherish and protect!

Delhi — a city we so often describe through its pollution, politics, crime and urban chaos — is also home to an extraordinary 471 recorded bird species.

Think about that for a moment…

One of the most polluted cities in the country. And one of India’s richest cities for birdlife.

So the next time you find yourself complaining about Delhi, pause for a moment.

LOOK UP! There is an incredible world of birds sharing this city with us.

And perhaps the more important question isn't “How many birds live here?”

The real question is: As residents, what are we doing to ensure they continue to thrive? It’s not only governments that make things happen. Citizens must also take responsibility, ownership and action to preserve Delhi’s extraordinary avian diversity.

Small acts by citizens can make a massive difference! #EveryBirdCounts

Maybe a bird box for sparrows, water bowls in summer, or a terrace garden that feeds birds and your family too.

Maybe plant native fruit trees or shrubs outside your bungalow, building or backyard. It doesn't have to be something mighty — even a small mulberry bush or a guava tree can attract birds. Not much effort, but massive returns! A beautiful Semal tree, perhaps?

Because Delhi’s birds are not just something to be proud of. They are something worth protecting.

A thriving home for birds can also become a clean home for humans.

Wildlife Week or Wild Bird Day may come once a year, but citizens can pledge to do something for biodiversity around us every day!

Believe in what we are doing? Share this with friends and family who live in Delhi!

Stay tuned for the next Bird Quiz!
