Meet Scrappy, from Denton who calls the University of North Texas home. @ntscrappy

Scrappy will be at the DFW Walk for 1 in 100 cheering on the walkers and today he shares his “Why I Walk”.

“I walk to help raise awareness for CHD and support Adult Congenital Heart Association’s mission to empower the congenital heart disease community by advancing access to resources and specialized care that improve patient-centered outcomes.”

Come meet UNT’s Scrappy and give him a high five as you cross the finish line in Bedford and spin the prize wheel for a chance to win a pair of tickets to North Texas’ home football game against the UAB Blazers on November 28th donated by UNT Athletics. @meangreensports

One last message from Scrappy. He says, “Go Mean Green!” by @ntscrappy

122 volunteers. 2,103 meals. 🥪 🧡 💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our September 19th Feed the Country event!

Every one of those 2,103 meals came entirely from food and supplies brought by volunteers that morning. This would not have been possible if each individual didn’t choose to show up and bring food.

Huge thank you to @amysdonutsofficial and @dentondonuts for donating donuts for our volunteers, @unionbearbrewing for hosting us and being so involved in giving back to the Denton community, and @ourdailybreaddenton and @ccahelps for helping distribute the meals throughout our community.

Thank you as well to:
@dentonspurs
@untbsu
@untnsbe
@untsga
@ymsl_integrity
@aleja.ndropolo
@_nicky.tovar_
@ntscrappy

for showing up !

Feed The City: Denton happens every third Saturday of the month. Our next event is October 17th — volunteers bring the food, and together we turn it into meals. Check our link in bio to sign up and What To Bring!

See you next month! taken in Denton, Texas by @ntscrappy
