I’m excited to share that I recently celebrated my first-year anniversary as Contract Procurement Director at East Flatbush Village, Inc. — and was unexpectedly recognized at our 17th Annual Gala for leading our team to secure over $1 million in city, state, and federal grants to support youth, families, and community safety across New York City.

I am grateful for the opportunity to use my skills which directly impacts the community with resources, programs, and support systems. @efvillage is doing amazing work such as weekly food pantries, workforce development, dance, sports and steam education programs, tuition free Steam Summer Camp (Which I helped re-launch this summer), Job fairs, Anti Violence Marches, and more.

I’m deeply proud of the Work East Flatbush is doing in the community and honored to help expand their commuity efforts. I am also extremely proud of what our EFV Contract Procurement Team accomplished together. Kayla King and Yoland Goodman have shown phenomenal professionalism, adaptability, and grace through the tumultuous challenges that come with Procurement.

This $1 Million Procurement milestone is a reflection of faith, teamwork, diligence, and dedication — from navigating complex procurement systems like SFS and OCFS to ensuring every report, deliverable, and budget detail was aligned.

As I look ahead to 2026, my goal is bold but clear: procure another $2 million in grants and contracts that continue to uplift, empower, and protect our communities.

Thankh you Lord Jesus for this opportunity.

Thank you to the EFV leadership team, my colleagues, and our partners who continue to trust in my leadership and vision.

The best is yet to come. 💼🌍

Attending Morgan State University was one of the Best decisions I ever made in my life. Thank you Jesus Christ 🙏🏾, I remember when all 7 colleges rejected me except Morgan.

In every Rejection, is God's Protection. Remember you only need one Yes to get it started and it starts within you. I didn't take No for an Answer and Morgan Opened their Doors to Me... Built off the sacrifices of enslaved Africans who were brought to this country to build America without pay, decency, and opportunity to pursue their happiness and even their children. They never gave up Hope, stayed true to their roots and culture, and birthed one of the most impactful cultures known today, Black Culture, American Black Culture. I could go on and on but I appreciate and give gratitude to my Ancestors and their sacrifices, that and God is where my power lies.

Morgan State University like other HBCUs give young Black youth the opportunity to strive to achieve their wildest dreams. Many of the friends I met here are doing amazing things in the world.

I'm tired of hearing the loud sirens Wailing all through tne night and day in #EastNewYork, #Brooklyn.

I've been living in the community for almost 5 years and somwtimes feel like im living in a war zone. How can we want our co.munties to be peaceful when they don't experience peace and quiet. Dont people in the hood who pay taxes and work hard deserve to have a peace of mind?

I did some research and discovered our community is bombarded by 80+ high-decibel sirens from police, fire, and EMS. In other Brooklyn neighborhoods like Mill Basin, you hardly hear them. In East New York, our apartments shake. Our kids can't sleep. Our elders' blood pressure spikes. We live in a war zone of sound.

This is not just annoying occurrence — it's a public health crisis.

The World Health Organization and thr CDC revealed Chronic noise over 55dB at night causes sleep loss, anxiety, hypertension, and learning delays in children. #WHO lists it as the #2 #environmental health threat after airpollution. East New York residents are bearing an inequitable noise burden.

This is a environmental justice issue and I plan to do something about it. I've been using the microbit to monitor thr Db/Sound Levels over 80Db inside and outside of my home. The first night I had over 65 high-intensity noise events over 80Db and some even Reached 103Db.

I am going to improve and expand my study into different neighborhoods, compare and analyze the data and present it to the community board and our elected officials.

This is a mental note and accountability to create a solution and not to just complain about the problem.

If you're experiencing a lot of noise pollution DM and I'll mail you a microbit and to monitor the sound levels in your neighborhood and we can work on creating peace and quiet in our neighborhoods. by @nubian.evolutionary
