13-14 Ekim’de İstanbul AKM içerisindeki Yeşilçam Sineması’nda gerçekleştirilen NextFrame Festival’i kapsamında hem sohbetin hem de yazmanın keyfine vardığımız bir atölye gerçekleştirdik.

They say, ‘The Western Civilization we know today was born here.’ I believe it.

Civilization… That is to say;

The organic farm eggs, orange cookies, and Cretan dakos bread given to us as a gift when we shop at the grocery store...

Nikos, who brought a bag of snacks along with the car keys when we rented a vehicle...

Helen, who was waiting for us with a fully set table at the house we rented...

Our Cretan sisters-in-dance, who drove us all the way home when we couldn’t find a taxi after Argiros concert...

Civilization is, not seeing a single piece of trash around,

Being able to eat food for more or less the same prices everywhere.

Civilization is when my eye was swollen shut from an infection, the hospital—which didn’t have an ophthalmologist—taking us to the doctor’s private clinic and back in their own vehicle...

Being able to enter 10 different heavenly beaches for free during our 10 days in Crete...

Walking through the Venetian Harbor of Chania, packed to the brim, from its restaurants to its streets, without any musical cacophony...

Civilization is in the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion where there are more Goddess statues, on the island where Zeus was born...

In the fact that thousands-of-years-old olive trees are still standing...

Civilization is in the dancing laughter of Yorgos at Olga Taverna, where we became regulars, and in the wine jug they gifted us...

In the delicious taste of the toasted cheese sandwich made by the hotel owner Sevi and her mother, who greeted us with a ‘Kalimera’ as we welcomed the day on our balcony overlooking the sea through the olive trees...

In the lack of any human damage inside that magical silence, those delicate stalactites and stalagmites of the tens-of-thousands-of-years-old cave they call the ‘Wisdom of Gods’...

In not seeing a single cigarette butt in the sand at Elafonisi, the most beautiful and crowded pink beach in the world...

In the Cretan raki and dessert served as a complimentary treat after every meal...

Civilization is;
On the thomb of Nikos Kazantzakis overlooking to neglected buildings of Heraklion:
“I hope for nothing
I fear nothing
I am free”

“Bugün bildiğimiz Batı Medeniyeti burda doğdu.” diyorlar. İnanıyorum.
Medeniyet… Yani;
Marketten alışveriş yaptığımızda hediye olarak verdikleri köy yumurtası, portakallı kurabiye, Girit ekmeği dakos…

Araba kiraladığımızda araba anahtarı yanında bir çanta atıştırmalık da getiren Nikos,

Kiraladığımız evde sofrayı donatmış bizi bekleyen Helen,

Argiros konserinden sonra taksi bulamadığımızda bizi eve kadar bırakan Girit’li halay kardeşlerimiz,

Medeniyet; mesela etrafta hiç çöp görmeyişimiz,
her yerde aşağı yukarı aynı fiyatlara yemek yiyebilişimiz.

Medeniyet; gözüm iltihaptan kapandığında, göz doktoru olmayan hastanenin, bizi kendi aracıyla doktorun muayenehanesine götürüp getirmesi…

Girit’te 10 gün, 10 farklı cennet parçası plaja ücretsiz girebilmemiz,

Kalabalıktan adım atılmayan Hanya Venedik Limanında, restoranlarından sokaklara, hiç bir müzik kakafonisi olmadan yürüyebilmemiz…

Zeus’un doğduğu adada, Tanrıça heykellerinin daha çok olduğu Heraklion Arkeoloji müzesinde medeniyet,

Binlerce yıllık zeytin ağaçlarının hala ayakta oluşunda…

Medeniyet; müdavimi olduğumuz Olga Taverna’daki Yorgos’un danslı kahkahasında, bize hediye ettikleri şarap testisinde,

Zeytin ağaçlarından denize bakan balkonumuzda günü selamlarken bize Kalimera diyen Otel sahibi Sevi ve annesinin kaşarlı tostundaki lezzette;

“Wisdom of Gods” dedikleri on binlerce yıllık mağarada, o büyülü sessizliğin, o narin sarkıt ve dikitlerin içinde hiç bir insan tahribatı olmayışında,

Dünyanın en güzel ve kalabalık pembe plajı Elofonisi de, kumda tek bir izmarit görmeyişimizde…

Her yemek sonrası ikram edilen girit rakısı ve tatlıda…

Medeniyet;
Heraklion’un bakımsız binalarına nazır yatan Nikos Kazancakis’in mezar taşında;

“Hiç bir şey ummuyorum.
Hiç bir şeyden korkmuyorum.

Os bastidores de uma das séries mais marcantes dos últimos anos, contados por quem a escreveu.

@nuranevrensit, la creadora de “Mi Otra Yo”, explicó por qué decidió que uno de los personajes principales muriera... y conocer la historia detrás de esa decisión cambia por completo la forma de entender el final de la serie.

Porque a veces consumimos estas historias sin darnos cuenta de que son un espejo de nuestras propias heridas. Todo esto lo comentó en un podcast bellísimo junto a @psicoaran y @angeleswolder.
