The day i finally married the man i want to spend the rest of my life with.

If there’s one thing i’ve learned through all these years, it’s that love isn’t always easy — but somehow, with you, everything felt lighter. Marriage was never part of my plans at 23, yet Allah writes stories far more beautiful than the ones we imagine for ourselves. And now, here we are, husband and wife.

Still trying to process how beautiful that day felt. Walking down the aisle with my mom beside me, seeing the people we love gathered together, hearing the akad, holding back tears the entire time… it was overwhelming in the most beautiful way. A day i know i’ll carry in my heart forever.

And even though abah wasn’t there physically, there wasn’t a second i didn’t think about him. I kept wondering how his eyes would’ve lit up seeing his little girl become someone’s wife. I know somewhere up there, he was smiling proudly, watching over one of the biggest moments of my life.

And to my husband, as we begin this new chapter together, my heart feels so full. Full of love, hope, fear, excitement — all at once. I don’t know what life will bring us in the years ahead, but i pray we’ll always hold onto the little things: the soft conversations, the comfort in silence, the laughter after long days, and the peace of simply having each other.

Thank you for being my safe place, my answered prayer, and the person i get to call home for the rest of my life. by @nureen.sofia
