✨Week 1 of 2nd Quarter✨ Photo/Video Dump

This quarter, I’m taking Mental Health, Pharm II, and Fundamentals.

So far, I love Mental Health (but I also loved Mental Health wen I was taking prereqs) this might be what I specialize in… but iono yet 😬

Since our weeks start on Wednesdays & not Mondays, we didnt get to attend Fundamentals Yet, so I have no clue what that class is, but I’ll find out in week 2.

In Pharm II, we learned how to administer an Intramuscular injection. It was easy, but it took me a long time just opening the packages 😩 we practice more in weeks 2, soo I’ll get quicker.

We also had our Mental Health clinical. Yes, in week 1. They aint waste no time 😂 But I enjoyed goin to the Mental Health facility, the time actually goes by fast b/c it’s literally always something going on. I could never get bored working there. Those patients def keep you on your toes! I was just ready to go b/c it was Easter Sunday 🙁

I know I’m a little late, but here is a quick glimpse of my 1st quarter of Nursing school.

A few things I learned this Quarter

1. Nursing school will really humble you, QUICK. There will be things you don’t want to do that you have to do.
✨For ex., getting to clinical at 6:45 am wen it actually starts at 7:30am.
✨Retaking exams b/c your professor messed up & added a few questions on the exam that werent supposed to be on there
✨Taking 3, 10 Chapter exams in the same week…. Etc

✨I also learned to use my time wisely! Take advantage of my “off” days & work head. It leaves more time to study & relax.

✨I learned how to study, well I’m still tryna find the best ways to study, but so far I learned to use flash cards & towards the end of the quarter, I learned that printing the powerpoints really helped (we’ll see how that goes 2nd quarter)

✨Overall, my first quarter wasnt that bad. My fave classes were physical Assessment & Pharm. After passing my Head to Toe in Physical Assessment on the 1st try, you couldn’t tell me I wasn’t a nurse 😂 I really wish I would have done this sooner. But everything happens for a reason & I’m here now! 1 quarter down, 5 more to go!! C/O 2024

P.s. I’m going to get better at posting so I won’t have to make long Reels & long captions 😅

😧 1st Quarter Finals came fast af!! 😵‍💫📖📚

I am sooo proud of myself thus far!! This quarter, I’m taking Pharmacology 1, Health Assessment & Pathophysiology.

I remember starting this semester being soo nervous not knowing what to expect, watching other students TikToks & IG stories 😅Fast fwd 10 weeks later & I’m sitting here calculating… & I came up with, even if I fail finals I’ll still pass the class 😂 Lol Ok I’m not going to fail, I’ve been doing great soo far & I plan to keep it up!! 💁🏽‍♀️

⚠️LONG POST ALERT⚠️ Soo, Ive been talking about going to Nursing school forever. But that’s all it was, just talk with minimal action behind it. It wasn’t until my mom got diagnosed with breast cancer that I finally decided i really wanted to stop quitting all these jobs 😩 & have a career as a nurse. My best friend was going to nursing school at the time & she really motivated me to take it serious. So, I decided to take it serious fr & when I tell you, this journey was Not easy. This time last year, I wrote down that all I wanted for my bday in 2023 was to be accepted into a BSN program. I told myself no more delays, by Jan of 2023, I will be in a nursing program. I prayed over my goals & got to em. I had to retake 10 classes total@ 5 different schools bcus the classes I already took were expired for the Nursing programs (4 accelerated summer classes at the same time) took the teas 3 times bcus it expires after 1 yr, applied to Nursing school 3 times & got denied all 3 times 😢 i got soo discouraged, I wanted to give up soo many times!! BUT… I decided to to apply to one last school… I spoke w/ the advisor & she told me I had to take one more class & a challenge exam to test out of the class. Omgggg 🤯🤯 I got so frustrated cus I was sick of taking pre reqs, & sick of hearing diff things I had to do to get into the program. BUT…. bcus I wanted to accomplish my goal, I took the teas, the challenge exam & the class all within weeks of each other while working 2 jobs 😩🥵 & after alllllll that, after over 5 years of just talking about going to nursing school, I FINALLYYYYYYYYY got accepted!!!!! Omg I cried tears of joy!!! I couldn’t even explain how I felt to finally see an acceptance letter!! This was the best bday gift!! I know this journey for the next 18 months won’t be easy AT ALL, but I’ve been praying & preparing myself for this moment & I’m ready!!! 💫❤️🥰 Today, 1/9 was first day of orientation & I was beyond excited!
