Mother, Partner, Registered Nurse & Law Student… “this is my why” Some days, the motivation isn’t loud.

Sometimes it’s sitting between the pages of a law school book while you’re reading on your lunch break at work.

My son made me this bookmark—his little hands making a heart on one side, and “You Rock, Mom” on the other. 🥹

And in that moment, I remembered: they’re watching.

They’re watching me work as a nurse.
They’re watching me go to law school.
They’re watching the long days, late nights, sacrifices, and the times I keep going even when I’m tired.

I’m working toward my dreams, but I’m also showing my children what it looks like to work for theirs.

This season is hard. But my why is bigger than the hard.

My children. My partner. My family. The life I’m building for all of us. ❤️

Happy Birthday to my baby sister, the last born, my forever baby. 🥹🤍🎂

I love you so deeply that it took me a moment to find words worthy of what my heart feels when I look at you. There is something indescribable about being a big sister and getting to watch the little girl you once held grow into a woman you now admire. 🥹

I have watched you grow from our baby girl into the most beautiful woman—inside and out. A loving mother. A nursing student. A woman who is intelligent, educated, motivated, caring, resilient, and POWERFUL. And through every season, you have remained YOU. 🤍

God knew exactly what He was doing when He made you, and I thank Him constantly that He chose me to be your big sister. I pray over you, your daughter, your dreams, your education, your career, your heart, and every door God has waiting for you. May what is ahead of you be greater than anything you have ever prayed for. 🙏🏽✨

Watching you be a mother to my niece has given me an entirely new reason to be proud of you. She gets to grow up watching her mommy chase her dreams, love fiercely, work hard, and become everything God called her to be. What a blessing. ❤️

Thankful for the opportunity to do research this semester with Chatham House! #london

Research examines developments in international criminal law and the work of the International Criminal Court.

Ensuring accountability and justice for some of the most serious crimes, such as genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, torture, and enforced disappearances is often hard to enforce due to a lack of political will to investigate crimes and prosecute those responsible, weak criminal justice systems, and the marginalization of victims in society.

Failure to hold perpetrators to account often means they can continue to hold positions in which they can commit violations or prevent accountability, and few efforts are made to establish the truth or take steps to ensure crimes are not repeated.
