I’m still trying to process this entire experience !

Advocating on Capitol Hill alongside other healthcare workers from across the country really opened my eyes to how many of us share the same struggles, sacrifices, and stories. We rallied for policies that would support ALL healthcare workers through: ✨ a $6,000 annual tax credit ✨ protection to speak up without retaliation ✨ funding for mental health support for healthcare workers

Listening to everyone speak with Congress was emotional, empowering, and honestly inspiring.
I’m beyond grateful that @wearfigs chose me as one of the ambassadors to represent healthcare workers in DC and advocate for change on behalf of all of us. Thank you for not only supporting healthcare workers, but truly HEARING us, seeing our struggles, and using your platform to push for real change.
One thing about FIGS they have a special way of bringing people together and placing us in rooms we never imagined we’d be in. I’m leaving this experience with a whole new interest in healthcare policy and advocacy… because our voices deserve to be heard too. 🤍

Forever grateful 🙏🏾. Over the past couple months I was able to accomplish a few of the goals I set for myself this year. I celebrated with my loved ones this past weekend and I wouldn’t have traded this moment for anything. Super excited to see what the future has in store for me.

Still so surreal — figs has over 400 ambassadors worldwide and to have been amongst the 11 that were chosen to represent for nurses week was truly an honor.

Such a 360 moment. To be on a billboard in the heart of Times Square, Madison Square Garden and at the NY Stock Exchange is CRAZY! I still remember growing up taking the 2 train line down town with friends to walk around Times Square to get henna tattoos and face drawings. School trips to Time Square. Now years later to see my face on a billboard in my hometown — speechless.

To @wearfigs and the team THANK YOU ! A million times THANK YOU for the opportunity and giving me the BEST NURSES WEEK GIFT EVER! You guys know I rave about FIGS all the time but I’m telling you they are such a great company man.. the things they do ❤️, unmatched !

THANK YOU - to all my friends and family that I would constantly send photos videos etc to for their advice on posting. Thank yall for telling me “Just post it” lol and hyping me up. Thank you @hey_gorgeouss for being the first to say “I’m coming” when I shared the great news and supporting me on this journey 🙏🏾. I love you guys !

I’ve never shared this publicly but in 2024 I was terminated from a travel nurse contract because I made a reel comparing my life as a travel nurse vs my life as a staff nurse and although I did not violate HIPPA the hospital “didn’t like the message the video was sending”. No I didn’t mention the hospital or anything but someone mentioned the name in the comments. Little did they know God already had another contract waiting for me that same day and a few weeks later I was filming a commercial in Cali with @wearfigs and a couple months after that I was on a whole billboard in Times Square, Madison square garden and the NY Stock Exchange. I laugh at this situation in retrospect and I wish I had shared my story then. One door closes and a million and one open!

Being around other healthcare workers in DC rallying for:

1. protection to speak up without retaliation
2. a $6,000 annual tax credit
3. funding for mental health support for healthcare workers
allowed me to see I’m NOT ALONE! We all have been through or are going through similar situations. I walked away feeling inspired to keep fighting for change in healthcare!
