One of the reasons we created NOC is to get the community supporting each other. What we find very encouraging is the support we get from the honest little guys and the amount of effort they offer to support the local community.

Qt the moment we got 2 local tradesman (Clive Chiddle and Tom Mobey) who are donating to us their used materials to be upscaled and recycled. Today we are going to give a big thanks to Tom Mobey, a self-employed maintenance service guy who specialises in guttering maintenance and roof cleaning.

Tom got into the maintenance trade at the tender age if just 6, helping his grandad. by the age of 17 he bought his first van and tools by saving all the pocket money he made helping his grandad. last year won the business award for his sector. Tom prides himself in customer satisfaction.

Tom is very conscious on the environment and instead of taking the old guttering to the tip, he brings it to our depot where we will recycle and reuse as vertical growing structures. NOC and Tom are also trailing to recycle the moss gathered from the roofs as an enhancement with our compost.

want to get in touch with Tom, then you can get to him directly through his Facebook page Tom Mobey or simply send us a message and we will forward it to Tom.

It's been a very busy week, welcoming youth clubs and choirs into the NOC project . Remember, nurturing our community project is about healthy living, togetherness, and for all of us to be there for each other.

We had an amazing workshop at Orchard Farm in Salisbury, and tomorrow, we will have our fortnightly Saturday workshop at NOC'S depot, Robins Nest, in Hordle.

The seed sowing we in our last workshop has sprouted nicely and will be ready to plant over the next couple of weeks.

Tomorrow, we will be discussing and learning how to protect the crops from deer and rabbits. Discussing how to make compost, starting by setting up our compost bins from wood pallets.

Finish setting up the polytunnels and hopefully plant it out. We will also continue with the no dig beds, laying down the cardboard and cover with compost.

We still have a few places available for tomorrow's workshops. by @nurturingourcommunity

Here are some photos from Saturday's work at the field near Verwood.
We set up some raised beds, planted some new seeds and plants, made a cover for them. Then cleared a new area for another lane of planting, and worked on the compost. All together we planted cauliflower, sweet corn, dwarf beans, carrots, mint, & cress.

We have workshops every week, normally in the evenings, and on a Saturday morning 9:30am-12pm. If you're interested in getting involved with NOC, then please fill out the form on our website > https://www.nocnoc.co.uk/volunteer-with-us > and we'll see you there! 🥕🌽🥦🌶 by @nurturingourcommunity
