This is my journey to finding myself representing GB at World Masters Athletics Championships in South Korea for 5000m track age 45-49 female category. I only started running seriously a year and three months ago aged 46 as I realised life is short and too short to care what people think and not go for what you want! I had a good fitness baseline by rebounder trampolining 3-4 x a week as that was an exercise class my kids were always welcomed to and I could fit around a busy work schedule and kids bedtimes. I would sometimes run once a week tops. My 5km time when I started at my local athletics club Highgate Harriers was 23.31 and by a year later of running 4 x a week instead, moved to 20.57 time. I recognise that I am not the fastest or the best but I showed up consistently despite being tired with a full time job and being a parent, recognising that consistency beats perfection. Half the battle in life is showing up and I found I managed to win a European Masters 5km in Catania this year in my 45-49 age category despite not getting my best time. I’m really glad I thought to do this! I’m now at my first World Masters representing GB and just happy to even be here! by @nushcar

Happy birthday to our bouncing queen 👑, the one and only person I know who defies gravity with her high jumps, your stamina is on another level and your energy is always inviting. Have a fantastic day💃🏻🥳🎂🎉❤️ by @nushcar
My new found love of running discovered earlier this year aged 46! It’s been great seeing that you can start at any age and improve to be better than you were in your 20s. I moved from a once a week 5km runner in May (PB 23.31 mins) to joining my local athletics club @highgate_harriers aged 46 and running 3/4 times a week, competing in a few events and , by November, aged 47, running a 21.21 mins 5km and 42.23 mins 10km and competing in a British Masters 5km event, something I would never have imagined possible. I had all the excuses not to do this: perimenopause, unattended knee issues, busy full-time job and parenting , but recognised that running actually helps with all of the above (including finally addressing knee issues). I’ve benefitted from a super supportive club @highgate_harriers @ninaruncoach and external support actually encouraging women my age with free or discounted race entry and training help. Thanks @nikerunning @runthroughuk @vitality_uk @tomsrunclub @nickolfloodx @jaycopley @christianmitchell.yt @runningreimagined Adaptability of mindset (I do not beat myself up about not sticking rigidly to a training plan) has meant that I have kept going. I’ve also recognised that your body can adapt to whatever discipline as long as you are consistent when I see throughout the years how my body has adapted from running a marathon at 26 to running in my late 40s, gaining 30 kilos and 25 kilos respectively with each pregnancy, to slimming down with consistent exercise and learning about good nutrition at the age of 34 thanks @nicola_j_sinclair, then adapted again when I got into @bouncefitbody and qualified as an instructor aged 42. Thanks to @bouncecamden and @lauraannsanson and learning to lift and gain muscle thanks to @davide.alf I’ve sought out older female role models on social media but it would be good to see more spotlight on them to show the path to others. In Highgate Harriers alone, there are world class athletes aged 45-70, it would be great if more people knew about them @runthroughuk @runnersworlduk @womenshealthuk by @nushcar

So I saw these incredible images of a replica Spanish galleon sailing across the ocean and under Tower Bridge and heard the galleon was only in London until this weekend, so rushed to get a family ticket. My husband had to miss his orchestra performance for this iconic experience! I told everyone they must get tickets too for this once in a lifetime opportunity! I rushed for my 2pm embarkation slot arriving at 1.30pm so that I wouldn’t miss out on it setting sail ….. only to realise was a stationary museum 🤦‍♀️😂. It does actually sail around the world and has a real crew so it would have been good to see more of what life looks like for the actual crew living on ship. Most of what you could see was how the Captain’s cabin and living areas would look and how sailors would have lived down below in bunks and what their life was like. There were lots of ropes for the sails and the vertiginous climb up the nets to get to the Crow’s Nest was impressive. Was I the only person to make this mistake?! Anyway, the ship will be sailing on Tuesday 15th October between 12pm and 2pm sometime if you happen to be near St Katherine’s Docks/Tower Bridge area, will be a sight to behold! by @nushcar

I tried to find pictures of me wearing my Just Strong gear for all the times I use them. I use for my favourite trampoline workout @bouncecamden and @bouncearchway , for boxing @boxe.soho, running and for home workouts. As the leggings and cropped top are so lightweight, they are great as skins to keep you warm for winter sports too. You can get a discount for JustStrong using this link: https://juststrong.com/discount/ANUSHKA10 or ANUSHKA10 at checkout at www.juststrong.com #juststrong #juststrongambassador #juststrongclothing #juststrongteam #juststrongwomen #juststrongwomensclothing #boxesoho #bouncecamden #bouncearchway #ad #juststronghealthday by @nushcar
#lolasofficeparty Thank you so much @lolas_cupcakes and @comerounduk for sending me these fantastic cupcakes and party pack to share with @bouncearchway. I have been so impressed with the fact @lolas_cupcakes allow free recycling of cupcake delivery boxes, offer a variety of vegan and gluten free cupcake and birthday/celebration cake options and showed us how the cupcakes were handmade. The ‘design a cupcake’ competition caught the attention of my kids, especially my son Robin, who was keen to point out that he has been coming to @bouncefitbody including @bounceislington and @bouncecamden since 2016 to further his case! It was lovely to be able to treat everyone, thanks so much! #lolascupcakes #veganbirthdaycake #vegancelebrationcake #vegancupcake #ecofriendlycake #designacupcake #bouncearchway #bouncefitbody #bouncecamden #bounceislington #comerounduk by @nushcar
