I’ve struggled so much trying to find the perfect half marathon race! 😂
The first half I did was the “Christmas in July” race in DC, which was absolutely brutal and high humidity. I was basically in a swamp. My goal was to go sub-2:00, but I ended up with a 2:15 because I exhausted so easily.
After that, I signed up for a second race in December, hoping my hometown would be a lot cooler, flat, and easy. It turned out to be in the high 80s! 😭😂 I finished in 2:08, which was seven minutes faster, at least.
Then I ran the Austin Marathon in February and actually hit my sub-4:00 goal with a 3:58!
Coming back to my third half marathon in end of March, I was hoping to beat my best non-race training time of 1:43. I ended up hitting 1:34:17! I PR’ed by nine minutes. It’s surprising how much faster I’ve gotten in less than two years. I’ll love this sport forever. #irvingmarathon #thankyou by @nuttyryann

The idea of a relationship sounds nice, but I decided to take this time to stay single and pour all that love into a hobby I never expected to be this rewarding. Not only has my running improved, but I’ve gained a community of friends I never would have met otherwise. Relationships are fine, but running is forever. 🏃❤️ by @nuttyryann
