I think 99% of immigrants just want to support our families, illegal or not. An illegal immigrant isn’t stealing your job, except maybe Elon Musk. The jobs illegal immigrants work are unwanted by the majority of the population. No one is illegal on stolen land. Texas and the other southwestern states were stolen from Mexico by way of a fake war. Before they drew their imaginary lines as borders we were here. And we’ll be here long after.

They profit from the pain of the people. Traumatize and displace. Using these deportations for their profit. They try to bury us but don’t realize we are seeds.

This mural is dedicated to the ones who cook your food, landscape your yard, build your homes and sometimes even raise your children. #animomigente #elpueblounidojamasseravencido

Words cannot do justice to what the past few weeks have been like. There has been ups, there has been downs, chaos & calm but thru it all there has been kindness, camaraderie, and community.

I am forever indebted to the Verde Community. Thank you if you showed up and worked on this giant thing with me. Whether it was painting, pulling lines, stretching fabric, cleaning brushes, eating snacks, whatever. I appreciate you.
I recognize all of you. If not by name then by face.

Unfortunately, we did not attain the intended result on the scoreboard after 90+ minutes.

And I feel, despite the beautiful game of football and its cruel ways, we all won somehow by contributing to the culture of this young football club.

I knew I was going to need a lot of help from my friends.
Y’all came thru and I still cannot make sense of it all but I am grateful for everyone of you.

“Verde is a feeling”
The English words don’t quite do it justice.
“Verde Es Un Sentimiento”
hits a lot better, it sounds more poetic.

Since I got here Austin has always felt like home.
A medium-sized city with the old ways of a small town.
This is my tribe. It took a while to get here, it took a while to find, but these are the folks that appreciate camaraderie in music, art, & football as much as I do.

It’s special when the two things I enjoy the most come together. This was the first time I tried my hand at a portrait(s). I’m happy with the result but will be dialing in on my process. Much thanks to @edgarlopez12 and the whole @barrioclubdefutbol for the opportunity!

Hamilton, Texas
While walking around the small town of Hamilton my good friend Rigo and I stumbled upon this mural. I don’t remember who asked who for the photograph but here you have it. I’m not the most photogenic person but I like this one. Maybe because my homie took it. Support your homies, your local stores, your local taqueria, your neighborhood.

The next day we ran a 10k, hiked another few miles, saw dinosaur tracks, and drove back through a storm.
